April 25 is good as far as I know. Murfreesboro is good too. I'm in NW TN, but we make day trips to Nashville for me to go to VA Med Ctr and visit family all the time. Just let me know what time, and where. Just had a call from Noah, he's in Gulfpor…

As a group, we would like to adopt a group of sailors and send letters and/or packages. I think we N4M could make a big difference in some sailors lives if all of us would just write one letter (you can do more if you want)

My stepson, Noah, will be arriving in Gulfport sometime this week. His PIR was this past Friday. He will be attending SW A school there. He's happy about going to Gulfport, because his mother lives in Kenner, LA. I'm happy that he is a Seabee, becau…

Hey Cathy, I'm being left out, too. I'd love to go to the ceremony, but... You and I can hang out and as soon as they can get Noah off base, you'll be ready to see him...let me know about the hotel room thing. Stephanie

Hi Cathy...We are looking forward to seeing you again...Do you know where you are going to stay? Wanda, (MeMaw) is in a room by herself and won't mind sharing with you..we're staying on the Naval Station at Great Lakes.

We are 7 days and a WU...that's a Wake-Up....LOL That means that on the 8th day is PIR. That's how we used to track days when I was on active duty...also, we are single digit midgets...so politically incorrect, but so appropriate! LOL

Karen, my stepson, Noah, is also doing PIR on 03/20/09. He is in Div134. Hope Amber is doing well, we TNer's should get together if we're anywhere near each other....Stephanie

Marianne, thanks for all the tips. As I am Noah's stepmother, I'm not on the list to go to the ceremony. I am so proud of him, and pray for him every day. We are staying on Naval Station Great Lakes, so hopefully, I will be able to just drive over a…

Wow about the picture. There are pictures all over this site with dress blues and they have to be approved first. So what is the big flipping difference? Is his uniform top secret? What about all the pictures in the newspapers with them in dress blues.
I am glad he is settling in. They are in tornado watch in that area tonight. Not to worry you.
I know she moved over but have yet to hear from her. The sooner she calls the sooner I can mail off her cell phone and laptop.

Hi Steph~I see Noah is in Gulfport. My mother lives there and I lived there for about 5 years. That is where I met my husband. He was a Seabee BU.

Thank you so much for your support and your hands on experience. Make Know mistake, I am very proud of my son, I tend to have been and still am a very controlling mother, and it is the total disconnect and the unknown that I am dealing with that scares me the most. You are the only parent so far that I have talked to that is even familiar with SW, so there for I feel like he has chosen something that no one else wanted. I'm sure that is not the case though when I did a little research on this on the Navy website I seen that as of now it is an overmanned rate(E1, E2, E3) so I guess I just need to let go and let him become a man. Thanks again Please keep in touch and let me know how your son is doing. God bless you and your family

I do know they have signs to where the div will be standing on the floor. So we should be sitting close. We plan on sitting a few rows up on the floor. Don't want to knock too many people over getting to my daughter. LOL
The last I heard last week in her letter she has passed all her inspections and tests. We have a 11-12 hour drive. Leaving around noon because of my husbands work schedule. Have to take the hours when they are there these days. But I will be on an addrenaline that will keep me going.
How is Noah doing?
We need to make arrangements before PIR to meet up with other N4M's while we wait on our sailor's to come through those doors. I will not be able to make the meet and greet.

Hi Stephanie, how are you? Has Noah said anything about the div.? Bo is worried because they have not scored very high in anything. One thing they scored an alltime low. He said that they did'nt even get their academic flag. Bo has only called once other than the I am there call. We get letters every week though. He is a little homesick, but not bad. He said that he is just ready for stuff other than folding clothes. He is suppose to go to A school in pensacola for Avionics. He wrote last week and said that he may have to stay in GL. Bo had a friend that was in the Navy and he too was very homesick. He was to the point he was literally sick. He got out while he was in A school. I think now that he regrets it though. We are going to PIR and I know what you mean about the girlfriend. I know that Bo is missing her something awful. He had us get her a ring so that he can give it to her while we are there. They have been together off and on since the 2nd grade. She comes and stays with me alot... That helps me get through the day. Her and my younger son and furry friends. My husband is more lost over Bo than I am. Maybe we will see eachother at PIR. Have a great day! Rhonda
