Hello Stephanie, I'm just checking in to see if you got that chance to visit the USS WASP and to see how was your visit to Norfolk Virginia.

Hi. I am in Livermore. My oldest son, Alex, just left for boot camp. We got the call from him last night that he arrived safely.

Hello Stephanie,
We haven't heard form my daughter yet, she is in boot camp. Left here Sunday July 26, arrived GL July 27th. Hopefully we will get her address today. Her 18th birthday is this Saturday. We live in Chesapeake which is about a 30 minute drive to the base depending on traffic. My husband works at the base so he drives it everyday. I think my daughter will be graduating boot camp about the same time you are coming to this area. Where exactly is your son stationed? Keep me posted. Have a great day!

Stephanie,
Wow, you are coming from California?? I saw that Mom of Four already told you about the Navy Lodge. There is also a new Springhills Marriott I believe on Hampton Blvd by Old Dominion University which is about 5 miles from the base. Where is your son stationed? How long will you be in the area? How many people are coming? Talk to you soon.

I actually live right by the base.... There is a Navy Lodge down the street... they recently did a pretty big addition to it and are in the final stages of finishing up the remodeling to the older part of it.... nice place... your son should be able to get you a room there if he doesn't have his own place... I think it runs like $60- $80. a night... There is quite a bit to do around here...just depends on what you are into.... If you don't live around here.. most people go to the oceanfront. (Virginia Beach).. we have Busch Gardens and Water Country about 30 minutes away... I'm still debaiting... my husband and I are still talking about it... I just don't think that I could leave my kids..... We have 6 all together.... 3 boys 3 girls.....18(stepdaughter),12(stepson),8,7, and twins 2 yr old girls.... My husband is not much of a cook.... so i think most of my hang up is anxiety from being deployed and my husband feeding them alot of fast food...lol.

Stephanie, how have you been? What is Jake up to now? Is he still in Pensacola? I hope everything is going well for him and the rest of your family. God willing Brandon will graduate RSS next Thursday. We are heading down there on Monday to spend some time with him and be there for the graduation. let me know if your son is still there and if there is anything I can bring, do or say to him for you. Take care.

Hi Stephanie, I'm doing good - busy! I'm heading to Bozeman tomorrow to meet some of the other Montana moms for lunch - should be fun! first MT get together. its about a 3 hour drive. My sister lives there so it won't be too bad. Where is your son at now? Aaron will be in South Carolina until at least April. He gets to come home for a visit in Sept - I can't wait! How are you doing?

We went to the Field Museum before the game...only Brandon and my husband had tickets. My daughter and I stayed at the museum until the game was over, I would have rather been at the mall but it was interesting. There was a lot of snow down town. Being from Phx we are not used to driving in the snow so I was concerned. The signs on the road read "Hazardous road conditions", visibility was only about 100ft. I was glad to finally park the car!! They had a great time at the game and Brandon is still amazed at the warm reception he gets from total strangers. I can't tell you how many times he has given me a hard time for talking to people I don't know. Now, he is talked to all the time, hugged and has his hand shaked, people thanking him for joining. I reminded him that all to many military men and women do not and did not get such a warm welcome and he should accept with gratitude all the praise he gets. How has Jake been in contact? Brandon was under the impression he couldn't have his phone until week 2 and his lap top until week 3 so the only contact we had was a myspace message to send his phone. He said he loves it there and is excited to be out of the cold. He said they have a beach on base! I was unable to read your whole message but I think Jake is home sick or questioning his decision to enlist, is that correct? How long did he enlist for? I was worried that Brandon would feel the same but either he is hiding his feeling well or he is still excited with the change. I wonder if the boys have met. Jake is in Aviation school correct? That is where Brandon is now too. I will ask about Jake when I talk with Brandon. I asked Brandon to get a Facebook acct since I don't have a Myspace but so far I can't find him. He said they have nights after 4pm and weekends free so I am hoping he will fly home for a visit soon. Tell Jake he is in my thoughts and prayers and remind him that we are not given any challenges that we can't meet. Hope to hear from you soon. Rhonda
