Toby Keith is opening "I love this Bar & Grill" in Auburn Hills, Michigan. Anyone who goes in with a Military ID gets an "American Soldier" meal for free. He has at least one other location and they do the same thing there.

As a group, we would like to adopt a group of sailors and send letters and/or packages. I think we N4M could make a big difference in some sailors lives if all of us would just write one letter (you can do more if you want)

Thanks all for the ideas. I sent my package last Friday but will keep the new ideas in mind for maybe my Fourth of July package. I found alot of neat red, white, & blue things at the dollar store, along with paddle balls & lollipops that said (Marve…

I agree that it will be a tough Mother's Day. Everyone's been quiet about it so far and I really hope no plans are made as I just want the day to go by. My youngest son is in Iraq, and his daughter will be out of town this weekend - so I will be mis…

Hi all. My son is a Navy Seabee currently serving in Iraq. May 16 is Armed Forces Day. Does anyone have any good ideas on what to send - I send him care package regularily with the "normal" things such as foods, toiletries, movies, pictures...but I…

There are so many ideas out there, groups that actually will send packages or gifts to our troops, recipes, themes, all kinds of ideas it would be fun to have an area to store them even though we have them scattered in other groups.

He is a UT2 (utilities person). Congratuations to your daughter on her accomplishments. It's too bad that she doesn't get more recognition for what she has done. I think it's important for other young women to see and know what women are capable of…

Hi Jeanne - my son is a Seabee also. He is a reservist but is currently deployed to Iraq. That's one of the great things about this site - you don't have to explain what a Seabee is to everyone all the time!! lol

Karen - this site has been a blessing to me. I don't think anyone else can understand what a mom feels sending a child to war. Sometimes I'd wonder if it was just me - going crazy - because it is so hard to not think about my son being in Iraq - it…

My son is a Seabee also and cannot tell us where he's at or what' he's doing - and I understand that is for their safety...but oh how I treasure those phone calls!!! I do feel very lucky that he can call us once a week - and his daughter even more.…

Tammy, May 8th will be here before you know it. Fortunately, I think sometimes things bother us more than they do our sailors...at least I hope so. You'll get to see him before you know it and can have an extra-special celebration then. Us Navy Mom…

Having my son deployed is alot harder that I thought it would be. I agree that until you go through it, you can't really imagine. During the holidays and into January I kept my game face on while he was getting ready to leave - the good-bye parties,…

I actually think it's terrible that they have to buy phone time. But that's the way it is whether it's right or not. I try to send a package about every 10 days- just because. We've been lucky so far and they only take about that long to get to him.…

I agree about having support, and having someone who is not supportive puts added pressure on them. There is nothing easy about juggling all their responsibilities - and it does give them very little down time...and any of that he manages to find he…

We have something for everyone here groups from boot camp moms to overseas moms and moms that like to scrap book. We have meet and greets to events that the moms set up to meet each other and have dinner or an outing. There are groups to help you with each and every step of this wonderful adventure that our children have chosen called the US Navy.
