About me:
Proud Navy mom of a current Seabee, an EO and another son recently out of the Navy after serving 4 yrs, the last year on the USS Ronald Reagan. Both boys are on the west coast and I live in NY so getting together makes for some planning but I sure am proud of both of them and me-we have gone through a lot together and are a stronger family for it!!!! When I heard “Navy,” I:
Needed to learn more about it
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
No news is good news. Say "I LOVE YOU" often.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

Sue...I know it's too late for now, but I noticed that you said you didn't know about the friends of four website. I just wanted to let you know that you can receive all the email updates on our Seabees in four by giving the ombudsman's your email address. There is also a care line (phone) where you can sometimes hear your SeaBee's name mentioned! Next time around, I can help you with this information if you'd like. (My husband is in four, and my daughter is in the DEP program. GO NAVY!

I am also hearing that they will be home very soon. His wife has told me that she has his cell phone ready to go, so he can call right away. I am hoping that we will be able to see each other this summer.
Take care.

Sue,
Dana was with NMCB5 for 3 years, 31st SRG for 3 years and this is his first deployment with 4. He has been in PH the whole time. His wife is also stationed there. They live in Palmdale, which is a drive also, but they really like the area. I will not be able to go out when they come home, sure wish I could. I am hoping to go this summer or they are talking about coming home to Kansas this summer. I will just be glad to have him home so I can talk with him whenever I want. Take care and keep me posted on your son.

Hi Sue, heard from Jason this morning. He is still in Iraq at this time but says by the end of the month, he will be over in Afghanistan. He sent us a couple of pictures of himself from over there. It was great seeing those pictures. I will definitely treasure them. I am so happy for you that your son will be coming home in Feb.. I know you've got to be so excited. I am excited for you. I am looking forward to our homecoming with Jason in April. Hope the time moves quickly between now and then. Well, take care and I will talk to you soon! God Bless Our Troops

my email address is purplehottie2day@yahoo.com. So you can email me your email address and I can forward the newsletters on to you. Oh and Justin joined the Navy thru the DEP program his senior year of High School. So I don't know if that counts or not. lol...But if you count that he has been in for almost two years now. He had a hard time in Boot Camp so he had to keep changing baracks there. He went to BC in July 2007 and graduated BC in Oct. 2007. He was in Washington,DC for a while doing the Ceremonial Honor Guard, but that fell thru because they said he was to short to be an Honor Guard. lol lol...How silly is that. Then he finally went to A school in Gulfport at the end of Jan. 2008 and graduated in April 2008. He came home for a week after A school graduation and we dropped him off in Port Hueneme. So he has been there ever since. But this is his very first deployment. He started off in Kuwait then they got called to N. Afghanistan. But I can't wait for them to come home. If Matthew is in Afghanistan then our boys are probably working together. Is he coming home in the first week in Feb? If he is all of Justins family will be there to welcome them back home. And we will also make a banner to welcome Matthew home too.
