Profile Information

About me:
I am the very proud Mom of my son ITSR Sean who took a big step when joining the Navy, but it has been an incredible journey for him. I am an Implementation Manager for a Telecom company and have worked in this field for 27 years. I am 1 of 11 children (5 brothers and 5 sisters) and I have 2 sons and 3 step children.
I am here to support or represent my:
Child/Stepchild
Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy Career?
Enlisted
When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was proud and encouraged it
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
How it has helped my son mature. I can nt believe all of the places he has already visited. I will never see as much as he has. On his present trip he stopped in Thailand and rode an elephant, was a part of a monkey at and ate a huge lobster for only $10.00. He is station in Hawaii and has a support position meaning he gets called up to several DDG ships; mostly out of Japan. I lov the person that my son has become and I owe a lot to the Navy.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

Yes Sue I heard from mine on a regular basis. If he is on the Paul Hamilton everything seems to be going fine. Mail has been a little slow, and I don't think that they are getting into Ports very often right now. Mine works to where he has access to computers on a regular basis. I am not sure to how much yours has access to computers. If he is on the Hamilton pass along his name and I will ask my Son if he knows him...

OMG...GET THIS...I was born and raised in Greenville and my mom still lives there and I worked in the nursery (I am an RN) at the McKInney hospital from 1992 - 2002. and we are in East Texas with horses...3 of em! WOW!!!!! What part of G'ville? And where did your sons go to school? I am sorry that you dont get much contact with your son. Even short little emails really brighten my day. I miss him, too. Wes is very proud of his Texas roots and is kinda homesick. But I think it will reinforce his love for home. I enjoy your emails...its such a small world...later...j

Hi Sue. This site is great. There is alot of activity but this page is a little slower- I guess cuz there are so few of us. But feel free to email me on my personal email, too tjcook99@gmail.com I get one or two emails a week from Wes. He usually emails me when he has duty cuz thats when he has access to a computer. I did get a couple of calls this past weekend when they were in Bahrain. It was good to hear his voice...but he has lost his "Texan" accent. We are in the Tyler area now but Wes was born in McKinney and I have lived east of Dallas all my life...so we are Texan to the bone. And the Persian Gulf is a LONG way from East Texas. And I think he really misses Texas... Look forward to hearing from you again...j

Hi Sue,
My son, James, is stationed in Yokosuka, Japan. He is also in IT. It must be very nice to be in HI for your son... I know I would like that LOL. James was away for the first time this year for his birthday and Christmas..I was so sad. So I know how your feeling. We do keep in touch just about everyday though using Facebook. He can tell me where he is after he gets to a port but not where he is going of course. He posts lots of pictures too, so that helps. He looks like he has grown too since he left. Big muscles!!! LOL He used to lift weights in school and won every competition. Now he looks like he could beat everyone in the world at it LOL. I don't know but I can not wait to see him again. He says he may not be home til November this year. When will you see your son again? Hope it is soon for you. God bless.

If he is on the Paul Hamilton I can give it to you...First you put his last name, first name and rank, USS Paul Hamilton DDG-60
his divison
FPO AP 96667-1278
If he is on another ship you need to look the ship up on the internet and gets its address, and then you do the same, just use that ship's address. Hope that helps.

I am a relatively new Mom to the N4M site. I saw an ad in a magazine not long ago. My son is in Lemoore, California just south of Fresno. I wish I had known sooner!!!! PLEASE COME TO THE LUNCH! You could probably take the skyway and up 19 for the lunch. It will be a drive for you, but you know-the Mom's I have talked to thus far are SO NICE! I really can't wait to meet many of them. The resturaunt looks nice and is located on the water. I am hoping it will be a nice day outside. Come enjoy-get out let's meet and have FUN! Donna
