Hi Susan, I saw where you have to work that day but I just found out they are having another NFMs in the Ft Worth Stockyards around 4 pm the same day. Some are planning to attend both lol. Well, I wanted to let you know so maybe you can work around one. Stay in touch, I may make a weekend of it, my counsin lives less than 5 miles and wants me to spend the night and I may have her meet us since she too was in the navy. TTYL

Hi Susan, sorry tto take so long to reply, the holidays have been crazy and planning this trip to GTMO was something else. Even though they are planning to close the camps, this place isnt going anywhere. Its too vital of a port to close entirely. Its my last day here and I will be back in Waco tomorrow night around 9pm. Hopefully my son will be there to greet me and then its only about a 45 minute drive home. Im right out side of Whitney but with a Morgan address. I would love to meet sometime with you and Kathleen and share my stories. Wow, do I have some doozies, like getting on the wrong bud one night lol and then walking around yesterday, finding a snake skin I kid you not at least 12 feet long! And I thought things in Texas was big HA! Its been wonderful being with my daughter this xmas and it seems a lot of guys actually got a little jealous of my daughter having her mom there and alot just wanted a big hug. It was my honor to meet so many new soldiers from all over and a couple even from Texas :). Well Sarah left for work about an hour ago. I will spend the day packing and taking in as much sunshine as I can get ( wished I could bring this weather home) how has it been there? Hope you had happy holidays and I wont know my work schedule till I get back so feel free to write any time. Teresa (Sarah 's mom)

HI Susan; My name is Kathleen & I also live in the Waco area. I'm hoping to meet w/some other Navy moms in the area. My Sailor has been out of boot camp almost 2 yrs now... but the feelings of when he left home, riding out the time he was in BC, watching him grad & everything in between continues to be very fresh to me. I'm a single mom & he is my youngest... so the empty nest thing is still hard. Anyway; I'd love to hear from you & get to know each other. I look forward to hearing from you.

I just noticed when replying to your reply to me that my sister Janet, Codys mom, has pretty much already asked you about this but thanks for responding back. I am sure you are getting very excited to see Victoria soon, I am sure it will be a very emotional reunion.

Thanks for the reply--MHU is medical holding unit--maybe it's one in the same of RCU? I'm not sure which one he's at right now--last I heard was Tuesday--the day of the injury, and I could hardly understand what he was saying due to poor phone quality there. At this point I don't know if he'll go with another division or even feel like it--I don't care either way, sure I'd like to see a ceremony but will be fine with whatever he decides, as long as he makes it! That's awesome for her first run! She'll get there in no time! So will you be able to see her before she goes off to school?

Hi Victoria--my son was moved to the MHU is that the same as RCU? He pulled his hamstring during his final run on Tuesday--he was supposed to be graduating tomorrow. I've only spoke with him briefly Tuesday night and he was trying to explain some kind of phases? Those phones up there are horrible and I was having a hard time hearing him. I would love to be able to see him graduate and even though I'm heartbroken it won't be with his original division, I feel he's worked hard and deserves to be celebrated and have that experience. I guess it will all be up to him in the end and I'll be happy with whatever he decides. As long as he progresses through is all that's important to me right now.

How are you holding up? I had a bad day yesterday. Today has been a little better so far. I had my heart set on seeing him this weekend, and now I don't know when that will be--I hate not knowing.

Victoria update

Well, it's been a while, but Victoria is almost done with A-school. She graduates from A-school on the 20th of February. She has a few days of leave and then we send her off to Little Creek, Virginia for 2 years. She and all of us are excited. I am thrilled she is in the States so I can see her as much as possible. She has qualified with all her weapons and is doing wonderful. Thank all of you for the support and keep me updated on your Sailors. I may not get much time to write, but I do want to… Continue

Victoria!

Victoria got her orders and is coming to Texas for A school this coming Tuesday. I am so thankful for all of you who have prayed for us and her. She will be in San Antonio for her school. I don't know when she is allowed to leave base and for how long, but we will be down there asap when we find out. I still hope and pray for all of you who are waiting for your child to make it out of boot, RCU, or THU, etc. It will happen. Merry Christmas to all of you!

Victoria is a Sailor!

Victoria is out of Boot and a full fledged Sailor in THU. YEA! I was highly anticipating seeing her next week when she called yesterday to give me the update. She has been put on duty every third day and it would only give us a day and a half with her next week because her duty day falls on Sunday and she can't leave base until the graduation ceremony is over. She worked one the other day and she said they don't get out until about 1400 and she has to be back on base at 1800. This would be worth… Continue

Victoria!

Yea, she passed her run today. She is now going to do Battle Stations on Sunday night and on Monday she will officially be a Sailor! She will go into THU, which is Temporary Holding Unit until she gets orders for school. She’s thinking probably January. They have to have enough sailors to make a class before they can have school for it. She is so excited to be moving on to Sailor status. They will be on base and have liberty, but I am not sure how it works. She said something about phases they g… Continue

Victoria

Victoria called last night and she ran on Tuesday for the first time out of RCU and back in FIT and she was just shy 6 seconds! She was so excited and happy she was so close. She runs again tomorrow I am assuming since I did not hear from her today. I am praying she makes it this time. She wants to be in THU so bad and be a sailor while she waits for her training school to pick her up. She said they have to wait until enough are ready for a class to start. She's thinking it will be Jan before sh… Continue
