Chon's Mom, lots of stuff can be happening...remember this is the Navy and all plans are subject (no probably will) to change. There is a difference between "liberty" and "leave". Liberty are days that you are off and are not charged against you.....

About me:
My family is mostly all navy. I raise, sell and show club lambs. My youngest son is a sailor now MM2 in nuclear power. He has put in for submarines, but he ended up on the USS Nimitz, which is out on deployment!
My oldest son was an Audi technician in Iowa, but the palce he worked went under and now he is in the Army and stationed at Ft Myer VA with the Honor Guard and Presidentail Security detail. His favorite past time is Muey Thai kick boxing...so I worry about him too! Gee even when they are grown, like almost 27..you still worry and fret over the things they choose to do! Even though he just got married to a very nice girl named Jessica.

A Navy Moms Prayer ( I put this over my son's PIR picture..senn on my page)

I kissed and I hugged him and watched him walk away

He graduated boot camp and was now on his way

He stood tall and so proud as he walked and he waved

I couldn’t be happier for the path he has paved

The weekend was short, how I wished for more days

Just in awe of his presence and new Navy ways

His focus and maturity came quick in 9 weeks

I know he will find what ever he seeks

I am back to waiting for calls and the mail

Never knowing when the time comes for him to set sail

I know many of you may just not be up on the whole internet thing, and it is GREAT you are all getting the hang of it and such. But you should all know a bit more about security and safety! WHAT TO BRING TO YOUR FIRST SHIP, and can moms really fix anything?

OK...as moms our kids, no matter HOW OLD THEY GET, seem to still call on "mom" to help fix things or help them pack. My son is one of those kids that seems to always call for the darndest things he needs help or advise on. Like yesterday, from clear across the country, he calls ME to have me tell HIM what is wrong with his washing machine! Hi Susan, Trevor bought a bunch of rugby stuff in Singapore, I know he did not have any cleets with him. I wonder what colors their shirts are, all those things. I was hoping to see some pictures on the Wanderers website, but nothing so far. Seems that the Nimitz photographers might take a few pictures of their team. Trevor was not so much a jock in h.s. as Justin, (he's kind of stocky but not so tall/big, only abut 5/8") but he and his friends really liked rugby. Smaller guys can excel much more than in football, although of course you need the tall guys too. I was grateful when he decided to quit football and then scared when rugby came along. But I liked the more social and supportive side of it. Aspen, a nearby town, has a great older guys rugby team so they coached our kids. Really great guys who were good role models. I guess I'm just glad they have something now that they can do for fun. Thanks for the message. Judy

Hi Susan, I live in Arlington, TX, about 7 miles south of DFW Airport. I can drive 2-3 hours radius around DFW if needed and also have an extra bedroom. I am available at any time as I am not working at the present. I can be at DFW in 20 minutes or Dallas LUV in 40 minutes or the Greyhound bus station in Fort Worth in 10-15 minutes. sorry for the delay in accepting your request! I've been sceaming busy and haven't been online in a long time. by the way, Kelly is home and they flew him home. We are working on a complaint against the recruiter this afternoon. I'm also considering talking to the chief in the office to let him know what's up so that they can start working (yeah, right) on straightening out any other DEP paperwork that may be missing information because of this guy.

If they want to send him on a bus I'll just buy a plane ticket and get the bus ticket refund. A bus ride is 2 days to AZ and it's the same fare as a one-way plane ticket on United. The bus ride also involves 2 transfers. Just want him home, you know?

Susan...i have a son who is getting a medical discharge from Boot Camp in GL. He will be traveling in about 2 weeks and I'm very, very concerned about him getting a ride to O'Hare. Are there moms in the GL area who could help and how much notice do they need? I'm more than happy to send them gas money.
