About me:
I am here for my son, Micah, who is the youngest of my 4 children. My husband, Don and I have 6 all together. We married when Micah was 7 and I am blessed to have had his help raising my 4 wonderful children. Micah was our last at home and we had just gotten used to it being the 3 of us. Then Micah ships off to boot camp!! Go figure! But we knew it was coming, he was in DEP since last October. We couldn't be more proud of him or more excited about his future.

Son Shipped Out Monday - And have a question

My son shipped out this last Monday the 24th for Boot Camp. I have heard from this site and from friends that we would receive a quick phone call from him letting us know he arrived. I have not received a call, should I have heard from him by now? I received his box of clothes today (Thursday), but no call yet. I'm not worried, I'm sure he's ok...but I sure looked forward to that call. :-) I have carried my phone around with me all week. Do they sometimes just not offer the opportunity?

Received the form letter today--one week and one day after he left. Upset though that the recruiter NEVER called me with his address a few days after he left, like he (the recruiter) said he would. The only call I got from the recruiter was the day after Aaron left...and that call was to ask that my husband (Aaron's dad) to go and turn in Aaron's dependent ID card and have Aaron's name removed from DEERS as a dependent so it could be entered as active duty Navy. So, I had to wait until today to send Aaron any of the letters I wrote him. I wish I would have had it, so he could be getting letters by now. I think I am going to send him all the letters I wrote anyways! So Susanna, how is your son doing?
