Sylvia I just realized we could have coffee sometime...I bet we don't live too far away... And if you like to fish....well Canyon Lake isn't that far... actually just up a few hills from me.. I live between the dam and the river at Canyon Lake.

I don't know that it gets easier and if they are going overseas to battle areas am sure it might get harder. I think if it ever got easier we would be brain dead and heart cold. Okay so that being said... I am not brain dead and my heart is not frozen so no, I always have a hard time telling mine goodbye with a smile on my face. He always says mom if you want to cry it is okay. And thru the tears and smiles I am able to let go once again. You see courage is not only for our sons but it is for the moms too. It takes courage to go to the future and not holding them back.. Remember the first day of school,,, and he was okay and we were the ones in the halls crying. Graduation from High School was hard because we didn't know the future and the tears came then..Those tears of joy for completion and the tears of sadness for watching our babies move forward. And PIR what can I say the joy of seeing him and then in a few days the sadness of leaving him. I had this son a few months and had to take him back to a home that was drug filled and oh it was so sad.. I drove from Alb back to San Antonio,,,crying all the way... that was the hardest goodbye I have ever gone through.... 6 weeks later he was back with us permanently as was little brother and sister. Yes, I cry when my son leaves.... but I have never felt what I felt leaving them in Albuquerque because that was the "law". The difference is...he is my son no matter where he is now, no matter how far and no matter the circumstances. Cry,,yes I cry... because I am reminded of the time it felt so hopeless and through my tears of joy knowing he is my son... I give him a big hug and Thank God for having the privelege of being his mother. Easier no.... it doesn't get easier we just grow more knowing they are doing what they want, just as any mother does...as their children leave our nest of protection...this time he leaves by choice not law and I find that is one of my best coping skills...Knowing he lived to make choices and good one.. and that is the joy you see in my tears at farewells.

Hi Sylvia: My son also graduated on 12/19 (Division 904) . Just wanted to say hello. Yes that was an awesome PIR. Just like you, when that door opens it is a feeling that is hard to explain. All you want to do is cry. Scott is now in Pensacola, FL and loving it. God bless you and your Sailor, Xavier.

Hi Sylvia, have you heard from Xavier? I havent heard from Josh in a while, he chose to call his girlfriends Friday, instead of home, but I did get a short letter. How are you doing? Only 18 days left!

Hey Sylvia,

My Son's "A" school is in Great Lakes AE/CF he's going for Fire Controlman. I was beginning to think there weren't alot of DIV 032's out there, but you all finally seem to be makin it us! Fantastic. I cannot wait to talk with you mom's in person. How are you holding up? As long as I get a letter a week it'll have to suffice! I was sooo hoping for a phone call this weekend but I think our Division might have misbehaved......

Hi
If you search Christmas and boot camp you may find some answers about your son's graduation. Also, check in with his recruiter soon and see what they show on their calendars.

Dear Sylvia,
How are you doing? This Navy for moms is such a blessing.
Bring tissues with you, when Xavier leaves.

Xavier will be fine and in good hands with the Navy.
Once the recruit gets into the rountine of Boot Camp they all like it, believe it or not.
It's the moms having nervous breakdowns!! HAHA!!!
I do suggest that you also join the group, "Boot Camp moms" they will be like a survival kit!! HAHA!!
