teri joined Carla Street's group
There are so many ideas out there, groups that actually will send packages or gifts to our troops, recipes, themes, all kinds of ideas it would be fun to have an area to store them even though we have them scattered in other groups.

Hi Teri!
Thank you so much for your kind words. Looks like your son joined a few months before mine did. Tim is my son's name. He is at JAC Molesworth as well. He got there last July 1st and have not seen him since he left. But hope to get over there in May. We will see. Tim is in Imagery. What is your son's first name? What does he work in? Does he like being in England?

Ellen the post below this one and my son have yet to figure out who each other are!! Mainly because we Moms go by first names and they all go by last names!

Welcome to the group! Don't get overwhelmed by all the chatter - just go ahead and jump in. Lots of the IS mom's had to start notebooks to keep each other straight! It is a fun group though. I am glad we now have 3 in England as so many of the Sailors in the group are still in school.

Keep in touch!! CHEERS ~ Vikki

Hi, Teri!
I'm the mother of 4 and my oldest son is also stationed in England as an IS....how about that?! He's at RAF Molesworth, but works at the NATO Intelligence Fusion Center. His name is Jim and he's 19, went to boot camp one year ago - April 1, 2008.
I'm glad you've joined our Moms of IS Sailors group. I really don't want to tell you what to do, but you may reconsider putting your last name on here since this site is public. Our guys are pretty valuable targets and you never know who is reading these pages.
We have so many nice moms in our group -- jump in whenever you're ready! I'm looking forward to getting to know you and hearing about your sailor. There is another mom in our group (Vikki) whose son is also an IS in England. Maybe our guys know eachother! Ellen

Be sure and look up NavyWeek.org--there are some events in St Louis the week of April 15th for about 10 days--go to events and start pulling up dates. We are looking for a larger presence at Union Station on April 16th when the Navy Freedom Band has a free performance!

Hello..Its so great to meet other STL moms. And Go Tigers!!! I heard from my son last night at 1:30am. Sounded tired but otherwise in good spirits. One question, I read that bootcamp is actually 9 weeks, 1st week is processing and 8 of boot. Do you know if thats correct?

Welcome aboard!!

We are so glad that you are here! This is a great place to meet others that know exactly how you feel!
We have something for everyone here groups from boot camp moms to overseas moms and moms that like to scrap book. We have meet and greets to events that the moms set up to meet each other and have dinner or an outing. There are groups to help you with each and every step of this wonderful adventure that our children have chosen called the US Navy.

Please tell us about your sailor and what they have chosen to do in the navy and ohh yeah we LOVE pictures of everyone !!

Please let me know if you have any questions I can help you with.

It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.
