you asked a question in the Bahrain group. My Son also is in Bahrain and he has been there since March 09. He just came home for a short leave, but now he is back in Bahrain. It took him to fly here into Detroit Metro Airport in Detroit, Michigan and to fly back to Bahrain 18 1/2 hours. and both times he had a lay over. I have found that the best time to call Bahrain is early in the morning for them the calls will go through. I am EST and in case you might not know they are 7 1/2 hours ahead of us. If you have any other questions feel free to contact me and I will help you as much as I can. Take Care, Sandy
P.S. If your sailor has a sell phone to use (if they want one they can get one from the NEX) when ever you call them the exchange like our area code is (011) followed by the number that your sailor gives you and or will come up on your cell phone. My land line phone when my Son calls it, it only comes up as unknown caller, but that could be just the long distance phone co. I have.
