My Aaron didn't do as well as he had hoped either, but was "okay" I think. He is pretty bummed because he didn't pass his PFA this week. He got physically lazy since his wedding in August and it caught up with him. He and Sara are having 13 at the...
Amanda -- go right ahead and leave him those messages! He will enjoy them when he gets a chance. And continue to write as often as you can. They need a great deal of support while they are at GL - and letters is their only communication. We are ha...
Congratulations to all the PowerSchool Grads! And to the families who have supported and prayed them through the past 6 months.
Mrs. Andy - especially happy for you and Sailor Andy! Good for him for his perseverance!!
Hope the orals went well to...
Marty -- Nuke school is 18 months - broken up into 3 six month sections. Aaron PIR'd 2-13-09, finished A school 8-7-09, and is now in Powerschool phase. Set to graduate that 3-19-10. Then he will begin the final 6 month phase, called Prototype. He...
Marty - my son is in Nuke school in Goose Creek, SC, and will be going Sub. Is your Sailor in SC? My son graduated from Eureka HS - so not too far from Wichita. We are in Topeka now.
Hope everyone's week is off to a good start! We are getting snow in Kansas today! Kind of early for that here. Aaron is holding is own and has his study hours down to 10 - 1's. He is pretty happy about that. He says it is already getting tougher t...
Congratulationsand best wishes to Aaron and his wife on their marriage. He has really had a lot of things to adjust to in less than a year, first boot camp, then A School, then marriage and now Power School. Wow. Of course we're still adjusting and we've been married 26 years! Robert's A School graduation was 9/4/09 and he came home for 10 days right after that. I haven't heard much from him since Power School started. Has Aaron said how it's going so far?
Zach and Lea are living in a duplex on base. They live on Tecumseh Ave. It sounds like their place is ok but could be better for the amount they are paying in rent. I am glad they are there though because I was worried about Lea being alone in the real world of SC! They have already had some interesting stories just going to gas stations. Zach graduated A School on the 24th of July and got married on the 31st. Then flew back that Monday to SC again and Lea followed the next day by car. It was stressful because we didn't know from one day to the next if he would be able to come home for the wedding and then they left right away afterwards. His A School class was one of the classes that didn't get leave right after graduation so he had to get special permission to be able to come home for the wedding. It was a beautiful wedding and now we just miss both of them so much. The one thing that makes it easier is that he has Lea now instead of being alone.
Our son's friend is leaving for BC in January, and is going into the nuclear program. They may met some day!
I saw a comment above that you left for someone else...I also have a granddaughter...who turned three Sept 10.
I should join the KS Moms group.
Terry, my son just started Power School also. I haven't heard from him since Saturday so I guess he is busy. When was his A School graduation? Aaron looks so familiar to me, maybe I saw him there?
Our sons must be in Power School together since Zach just started on Thursday also. I have no idea how many sailors just started but it was neat to see another mom at the same stage! I am just praying that it isn't too hard and I will be glad when the studying and test taking is over. Then I am sure there will be new worries for us! Zach has his new bride with him now so hopefully the support she can give him will help him get thru. Is Aaron married?
I live in Belton too and left that info on Kathys page. I dont know why I dont want it on the board! LOL I guess I figure its harder for the bad guys to get my info from your pages.
Hi Terry, thanks for the input...Joel's class should be classing up this weekend and I think he is so nervous something will happen, he's really looking forward to classing up! I'm glad to hear Aaron is doing well and has found his 'groove' :) I keep telling Joel things will fall into place, he just has to continue to work on managing his time! Thanks for the heads up on the missing box! I'll stay in touch.
Hi Terry, How is it going? How's Aaron doing? Joel got a 3.1 on his BE test also (last week) and was disappointed with that too. Thought he would do better. He is also a bit overwhelmed and time management is a struggle with all they have to do. Since Aaron is ahead of Joel I was wondering how he is managing, are things getting any easier? I hope so!
