It's time for all of us to get together again. We are going to meet Saturday, August 29. I placed a discussion out there a while back, but with summer and busy schedules there weren’t too many responses. With that in mind, I am going to invite all who are interested to my home and we’ll BBQ and pack boxes and just catch up on our Sailors. I don’t know that I have all of the Colorado Moms on my email, so please feel free to pass this along to any on your friends list. As always the more the merrier. My address is 12165 W. 85th Avenue Arvada, CO 80005 303-463-8912 (home) 303-982-0590 (work). Please go to the event page and RSVP if you are coming.
Molly’s Adopt-A-Sailors have adopted the USS CROMMELIN. The USS Crommelin is a frigate and the home to 252 of our sailors. They are based out of Hawaii and are currently on deployment. There are 250 males and 2 females aboard.
And, not only are they happy about us adopting them, they are ecstatic!
They will be half-way through deployment about mid-September, so we are going to help them celebrate with a HAWAIIAN LUAU. Let’s show our Colorado Love.
Check out Molly’s Adopt-A-Sailor site for more details. The discussion link is August 09.
Hope to see lots of your smiling faces
SCC is more of a basic in processing I think> How easy one forgets. Then she will take an ATT course that is an electronic course. It is a self paced computerired course that gives all the sailors a basic knowledge of electricty. That way when they are on the ship they are all using the same technology etc. Then she will start her other training. She is also probably working towards higher phases of liberty. They gradually give them freedom. Which is probably a good thing. She might even change ships (barracks) from shen she starts SCC to her A school, so don't be surprised.
I grew up Army so this is all new to me too! Thank goodness some of it is the same!LOL
Welcome to the group! It is great to see another person from Colorao!! I think it is neat that you are supporting your "adopted daughter" These Navy personnel can use all the support we can give!! Let me know if you have any questions. If I don't have answers we will find them for you!!

Good to hear from another Co. girl!! Yes Sam and Stevie were in div 370 and friends. How great was the PIR we had a great time out there. It was just so good to see Sam and spend time with her that BC thing was so hard!! So Stevie stayed in Great Lakes? Did she move across the street?? I'll bet she was happy to get out of BC!! I know Sam was. She is now in Pensacola and is thrilled to be there. She is on hold for A school I guess they are backed up. She will be an Air Crewman. Her feet are not 100% the right is worse so I'm hoping she can get them taken care of in FL. So good to hear from you. We live in Arvada I was just up in Longmont not long ago for work!! Good to hear from you!
Take Care God Bless your Day,
Tammie Sammies mommy
