Hi Tina---I spoke with him on Saturday, he said he see's the doctor again on the 10th and he's hoping to move into the next phase which could take 2 weeks. He said he knows for sure he will not make it before Christmas.:-( He is walking now so that's good but he has to be able to walk without pain--which is where the 2 weeks come in. How is Robby doing?

Thanks Tina--I can tell he's really determined, here I was so afraid he would want to give up but it's almost like this has made him stronger. Either that he's putting up a good front.:-) I'm just going to take it one day at a time and not try to stress out about it. Thanksgiving was hard, but we might as well get used to this sort of thing. It's a small price to pay for what they're gaining. Well I hope Robby is doing well and getting along in things ok. Talk to ya soon! Janet

Hello again Tina,
My Robert has to stay in GL for 2 more months to complete the first phase of his training, then he will be moving on to Pensacola. It looks like he will be done and home by next June (I hope) and then he will just pull his reserve time unless he decides to go active or is called up.

Hi Tina,
Yes, Robert was in Div 008 Ship 09. PIR was wonderful but I miss Robert so badly now. I can't wait for Christmas when he can come home on leave. We are getting married right after Christmas and I am so excited. Robert was the old man of the group as he joined the Naval reserves at 39 years old, but he loves it. Nice to meet another Arizona connection!

it gets alot easier when you start to get letters. you should recieve his box of belongings soon. that was hard for me. as a matter of fact his cloths are still in the box in his room. i didnt want to do anything with it until he comes home for the holidays. this is a great site and i got some great new friends from this site. a few i met when i got to PIR and funny as it is our boys turned out to be friends. so i think i got some navy mom friends for life. hang in there stephanie. i know it will be hard to be without him for thanksgiving as it will be for me too. hopefully you will get a call tomorow.

I think that it will get easier after I get to talk to him. I'm expecting his letters and phone calls to be hard at first. I think that after he gets past the first 3 weeks or so it will get easier (for all of us) :)

Hi Tina!
I hope that I don't get any letters or phone calls where he sounds too miserable. I am having a hard enough time as it is. That sounds selfish, but I miss him. I was at the grocery store today and got all choked up because this will be my first Thanksgiving without him. I am feeling very grateful to his recruiter though. My son has been gone for 2 days and I already have his address. Whoo! Hoo! I just mailed my first letter today.

Hi Tina!
MY son has only been gone for a few days and I worry about him. I'm sure that he'll do fine in BC, but as a Mom it's hard to let go. We've always told our kids that you need to work for what you want out of life, I just hope that he doesn't get too down on himself the first few weeks.
