About me:
My son is a Culinary Specialist 3rd class and is currently stationed on the USS Ramage.
I am very proud!!
I am here to support or represent my:
Child/Stepchild
Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy Career?
Enlisted
When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was proud and encouraged it
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
Keep in touch, write all the time.... Tell him how proud I am of him and share with the world that I am United States NAVY MOM and I am proud of it!!!
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.
My son got married on July 10, 2009 and now he is getting divorced!!!!!
What a mess!!!!
I was against him getting married in the first place as I thought it was way too quick…
Then not even a month and half later she tells him she no longer has feelings for him.
Now he has to pay her so much money a month it is not even funny!!!!
Oh ya and she is pregnant!!!
What a mess!!!!
He was such a good kid,,,,,,, What happen??????

Hey, Tina! My son, Tim is also on the Ramage... He's an EM (Electrician's Mate.) I'm still getting used to the "lingo"... This is his first deployment. Sinced the Ramage is a pretty small ship, I would image that our sons will likely know one another by the time their deployment is over, if they don't already. And, hopefully, we will, too! One thing I'm thankful for is email!

Tina, I was super emotional yesterday. My son is deployed ,this is his second time there. Yesterday the news report from there wasn't good. a helicopter went down with seven soldiers. needless to say my heart dropped. Today there are families getting very bad news and we are all family here if one hurts we all hurt. If your asking about the pop ups, every time I get on this site a box pops up saying the script is not responding. I don,t know if it's just me or other moms are getting this too. Anyway have a good day thanks for being there. Maria

Oh I'm sorry to hear that. The recruiter told us that Jonas would have to put in two years in his first choice but he might be able to switch after that. Perhaps your son could switch before 24 months if the Navy has a need for the position he wants.
I hope that Jonas gets more out of culinary than Jameson but we'll have to see. His second choice was carpentry. Please ask your son if he thinks he would have more freedom or creative outlet in culinary if he were not on the ship but maybe on a base. It may not matter and he may not know. Thanks.

Hi Tina. My son Jonas had his PIR last Friday (July 18th) He just started A school as a culinary specialist. I would appreciate anything that you can share with me about his experiences. Also, do you know if there is a group for culinary specialists? Thanks. -Janice

Hi Tina,
Great meeting you the other day. Was it you that told me your son was going on the Roosevelt in Sept.
