My son has problems with AT&T cell service in GC. It shows bars but "No Service." AT&T also did not understand the problem. He is OK when not on base. I wondered if it has something to do with the electronic equipment on base? Who knows. Debbie B ...

Tina-So nice to see your post. Your two ssailors pictured together is awesome. I am praying that we'll have both home for Thanksgiving and then the camera will need extra batteries. LOL Please let me know how Sean does with the Seaman to Admiral program. Our son Quincy is interested in that route also. He is midway through Power School. Our daughter is currently in San Antonio in MA school. She is reserve and hoping to get back her and get her college underway soon.
What an incredible accomplishment for your James, an instructor....wow.

most carriers have problems on base... the navy has a contract with sprint... and a couple of the other providers have recently made some sort of agreement that allows them to have a bit better of service... but there really isn't much that can be done about the lack of service on base... not sure y it's that way... but i have noticed that most bases are like that... navy bases anyway...

Hi Tina, I see you have 2 sailors. That is wonderful. They look very close in age. I have a son in the Nuclear Prototype Program in Ballston Spa,NY. He has been there since last Sept.2008.Patrick is also a MM. What does James do in the Navy. Where is Sean going to Prototype at SC? I hope you have a nice day. Laura

Yes, I know. I too thought the same thing about commission only. I'd actually interviewed a week earlier with another insurance company and ended up leaving before the actually interview happened because I found out it was commission only-but I'd never heard of that company before. I'd heard of Liberty natl and United American before. I've never worked like that before-it's always been my base wages plus commission. However, with the unemployment rate so high I found on go on these interviews for less than half of what I'd made and then I'd never get called back and I had a great interview even being told I was being recommended for team lead because of my experience. It's prob the old 'overqualified' crud. I have owned my own business before so that sort of equates to commission only so I told my husband I was afraid to not try. At worst case scenerio if I didn't like it I'd have a license under my belt to add to my resume and continue looking.

I will tell you that most agents within their first year, or those that aren't even top producers are making around $58k yr. My manager has been there just 1 yr and she told me she's on her way to having this year be a $100k yr for her. I'd been exstatic with $58k since I'm used to making $35k. If you want info let me know and I'll find out as much as I can Monday.

Also Aldi grocery stores are hiring manager trainees (here and in your area) for $20 hr. They're having a job fair April 9th but you'd have to come to Orlando for that. Go to www.aldifloridajobs.com

Tina, sorry to hear about your employment situation, but glad to hear your sailors are doing well. I was unemployed from November 20th until, basically, March 12th. I can tell you that if Daytona Beach is close by and if you would like some information my company, Liberty National Insurance Company is hiring about 200 people, I believe I was told. They are in rapid expansion and the money is beyond good once you get your pipeline of business going. You have to pass the state exam for health, life and annuities and it isn't easy but it can be done. I've never been in the insurance business before-my background is sales and customer service. If you would like me to find out some details for you just let me know. Otherwise best of luck-I know how hard it was here in Orlando to find a job and I was told that my resume was very impressive.

thankou tina for responding to my message I left. I am sure upset and worried about my son. He had a mri done yesterday and they discovered scar tissue. I am not sure what the doctor is planning on doing with this knee. He said he would call and let me know. I am 13 hours away from him and worry everyday about the pain and discomfort he is in. I feel so helpless. I am grateful that he is able to call me everyday and talk. I pray for him everyday in hopes that he will be able to finish his enlistment time. I am glad that there are other moms out there with children in the military who care about others. I have added you to my friends list. I do look forward to talking to you again. Thank you for all the concern.
