Hello Kelly-
My son Andy graduated on 10/31/2008, he is a FC and is now attending A school in Great Lakes. I don't want to get your hopes up...but...When Our son graduated he was able to spend the entire weekend with us at the hotel. He did have to…
we stay at the Residence Inn in Wakeegan- free breakfast! They have a shuttle to take you the the graduation if you don't want to fight the traffic. About $100 a night. It's clean they are friendly...about 15 minutes from the graduation.

- Hey Toni, my son Jake finished boot camp at Great lakes and they send him to VA, so he has been there for a month waiting for A school. It is tough when you have to just wait.. Has your son been though all this yet? He calls us and tells us what is going on.. But he isnt sure of his plans yet..

My son is training at NAS Kingsville, TX on T-45C trainer jet for F-18. He has nerves of steel and I have nerves of a wet noodle. Happy to find someone from our hometown. Winston was MHS Class of 2003.What are all of these abbreviations? FC, ET,?

- HI Toni My son is tired of cleaning also, but like he says he's getting paid to do it. He called Monday and said that he was listed to start school that afternoon. He"s been told that if he keeps his uniform neat and stays awake it will be easier, as he's sceduled for class from 3pm to midnight. He's very anxious to get started

Mary, Proud Mom of Nick said… - Toni, our son is our baby - well he is my first born and he has been gone since February. He should be graduating from A school at the end of this month so it's a long program. We were actually very comfortable with Nick's decision to join, he did college for 1.5 yrs and was bored and restless. But the truth of the matter is - my husband was an FC for 10 years and Nick will have the same job so we have a better understand than most. I was a Navy wife for 10 years and in fact our sailor son was born in Japan. FC is a great rate and will serve him will in the Navy and beyond. Do not hestitae to ask any questions!!! Although we were just in Michigan in September - we did not get to visit the Aunt in Highland - it's been years since I've been to her house. I believe she is on Wardlow ...have to check my Christmas card list!!! My husband knows that area much better than I do. I remember her house as farm land but everything was back ...then!!!

- Hi Toni, seen your post about your FC son and wanted to stop by and welcome you. Our son is in his final weeks of A school for the FC program and my husband was an FC for 10 years as well so happy to answer any questions that you might have. Please join the AE/CF group, we have almost 90 members that are all ETs or FC families. Lots of great sharing going on there.
Seen you are from Michigan as well, we are originally from Livonia but live in the South now. All of our family is still in MI and we even have an aunt in Highland!!!
