That would be great if you could visit him. Sounds like your son if a very mature young man. I often wonder how these sailors with families do it? It must be terrible to miss out on seeing your child grow up. They are young for such a short time and that is when they bond with you the most. I respect that your son would not want to miss that. Too bad about his accident though. Just in case you haven't noticed, I write mini-novels all the time.
(Look at my response below), so feel free to write as much as you want. I love it! It is great to share.

Tracy- Glad you liked it. I must admit that I cried several times while I was making it. It was my first attempt at anything like this, so it was a learning experience and took time, but it was actually fun to do. Chris is a little embarrassed by it. Says he doesn't deserve all the attention since (as he says)he has not done anything yet. I told him I just wanted him to know I was very proud of everything he has accomplished and as always that I am very proud of him. of course I agree that he is cute, but I'm his Mom!

My other son, is like your son. He just finished college and shows no desire to go into the Military. He has heaped a lot of praise on his brother though for doing it. I think that is nice. Being the little brother I think Chris might have felt overshadowed by his big brother at times, but now he can see how much his brother respects what he is doing. I think that makes him feel really good.

Hope you get back to Chicago. Would you be going just to see the sites or is your nephew still at GL? I don't know if there are restrictions when you are pre bud. It would be great if you could visit him. I am hoping to get to Virginia in the next few weeks to see Chris.

Take care and thanks for spending the time to look at the video.

Hi Tracy- Glad you are warmer. I think we actually hit 45 today. A real heat wave for sure after the way things have been but the cold is coming back tonight! I hope your nephew is doing great. I know the seal program is VERY demanding! Chris is waiting for school to start still but seems to like where he is and his room mates. Here is the site you can see the video on. It is kind of long and very personalized. I made it as kind of a graduation card to Chris.

Take care and stay warm!

I understand how he feels. One of the RDC's asked Chris whose dog died, right after I posted about the death of his dog, so I do know they read the site. I know the SEAL program must have to be even more discreet. Can't blame them. It is for their safety and the country. I give your nephew a lot of credit.
The SEAL program is one hard program!!!

Thanks Tracy! I only wish he was smiling so everyone could see his cute dimples. They took one pictures of him like that for his graduation picture but he picked the serious one. I think he wanted to look like a serious sailor not like his Mommy's cute boy.

Would love to see a picture of your nephew. Your PIR pictures are great but I am not sure which one is him?

Thanks Tracy. Thank you for setting it up. Glad you are starting to feel better.
Chicago in the summer is so much nicer but the PIR was great! Hope your nephew is doing well. Where is he going to school? Is he going to be a seal? Chris is in Virginia Beach, VA and rooming with 2 of his old 907 division mates. He is on hold for MA school right now, but liking his new
surroundings. He sounds very happy. Keep in touch!
