Hello Tracy: Sorry for the delay, haven't been on the computer for a while. My son PIR on 12/19 and left for Fl. the same day. He has been there waiting to class up. They said maybe by June. Meanwhile he is there cleaning, doing watch and other duties. He likes it and says he just wishes he could see us more often. Can't complain, he got a week of leave for xmas. And yes he changed a lot and for better. He is a wonderful young man, organized ( for the first time in his life), with his priorities very clear. I am very happy that he decided to join the Navy.

Tracy!! Hey girl, how the heck are you doin? I have missed talking to you! I know from what you have told me and what I have read on Cheetahs that you have a LOT going on in your life right now. I hope things settle down to a "gentle roar" for you soon. I totally miss talking to you. Please call me when you get some time to breathe OK, so we can get caught up with each other. I'm anxious to hear about Andre and how he is doing. Jillian is doing good. Still at GLs, finally taken off of hold and taking the online ATT course and doing very well in it so far. By the beginning of March she should be done with that and hopefully by the middle of March she should finally be outta there and sent to Pensacola where she will then have to endure another long wait for A school to start. I do miss her. It already feels like its been months and it hasn't even been 1 month since they went back from Christmas leave. I talk to Jill about once or twice a week now - any more than that and I sense that she is feeling smothered - plus we run out of things to talk about. That's where texting is good. Anyway, I'm just rambling now, so CALL ME soon when you get a chance and we can fill each other in. PS: thank God there were no big flocks of birds flying around in Philly airport on Dec 4th, huh?

Hi Tracy,
How are you? It seems like whenever you are on, I'm not and vice versa. I haven't been on that much lately though. I've been feeling crummy ever since PIR was over. I finally got over that ricky crud but I still have a dry cough and I get tired so fast these days so I go to bed early. I just can't seem to get my energy levels back to normal and I've been so achy lately too. The holidays wore me out. I did enjoy Jillian being home but I could see that she needed to get back towards the end. Any longer and she would have fallen deep into her old ways again and had a tough time adjusting. I miss her now though. And she is still stuck up at GLs on HOLD. All she does is clean, clean, clean (humm, karma, huh? LOL). I know that she is anxious to take that ATT course so that she can eventually end up in Pensacola. And the sad part is that once she makes it there, she'll probably be put on hold again because all of the Aviation A schools seem to be so backed up there. Has Andre started his classes yet? How were your holidays with him. Give me a call sometime when you are not so busy with work and the kids. I miss chatting with you! I still want to find a way to get together in the coming months. And don't forget to stop by the Cheetahs group too. You've been missed there too!
Love ya sweetie!

Hey Tracy, I'm doing fine. And Sam left this pass Wed. He will come home again in the summer. He is hoping that he will get 22 days. But right now he's going on a 16 country world tour. And he seems to like it pretty much. And I'm glad for that. And I know that you did cry because I did to. I don't think that we will ever get use to them being grown and own there own. And he and his friend are doing good. They drove down here together he came to see his mom. And they live right down the street. So all worked out really really good. But no matter what they will always be our babies.

Hi Tracy,
I haven't heard from you and I just wanted to let you know that I am thinking about you and wondering how your holidays were with Andre. Jillian was only around about 50% of the time as she spent a lot of time running around with her friends, but that was fine. She reverted back to her sloppy ways when she was home and slept late most mornings too. LOL. That didn't take long. But she is back now and I'm sure having to muster at about 5:30 or 6 am. She is still on hold waiting for her ATT class to start. Maybe next week. I hope soon so she can finish it and get to Pensacola where its warmer. I do miss her already, but that being said, I think 2 weeks was plenty to be home. Any more and it would have been impossible to get back into the routine of the Navy again. Write me or call me when you get a chance, I miss you.

Profile Information

About me:
I have 2 children and 1 grandchild. My son is my oldest and he is 21 years old, my daughter Aaliyah is 13 years old, and my granddaughter which is Andre's daughter is 5 years old. Andre was going to go active and then decided on the Navy reserves (thank God). I love my kids and my granddaughter to death. Family is very important to me. I am a bible believer and I am battling right now between my fears of a mother and trusting God to protect my son and get him through. Everyone here on this site is what I have as far as support goes concerning this matter. I am still married to my children's father, we have been together for 23 years and married about 15 of those years, however, we are not together and that makes other areas of life very tough and then Andre being in boot camp does not help. But Jesus will get me through it all, as He has in times past and He will now. Praise God!

Very Curious!!!!

Hello Everyone!

I wanted to know how many moms out here have children that before enlisting in the Navy may have left home for college. The question I have is: When they left to boot camp were you more stressed than when they left for college or was it the same?

The reason I ask is because after my son graduated from high school about a year later he decided to go into the Job Corp. to learn a trade. He did not like it and came home after about five months. We had contact with Andre and in tho… Continue
