Greg said he's glad he did SERE, it gave him so much more self confidence in case he was ever captured. BUT.....he didn't want to do it again!

I think Beth may be right, there may be another 3 years before trying for PO1 so they're upping them all right now. PO2 is SOOOO much better than PO3.

Kari, I'm not sure about the exact guidelines. My understanding is that these new PO2's may be at that level for 3 years before they can even attempt to take the advancement test to PO1. S…

Thanks for the invite. I would like to join your group. How fun to find other mothers of aviation rescue swimmers. My son was just home for the weekend. A short, but sweet visit. He is stationed in San Diego, so not too far from me in Phoenix. Looking forward to talking more with you. Where are you located? Is your son in the rescue swimming portion of training at this time? He has a long road ahead, but it will be rewarding. My son says it is the best job in the Navy. :)

We are going Saturday to see Stephen again and spend some quality time with him. I can't wait to see him and spend more time with him.
