well you are right darlin. you do get bah. when you marry into the military, the military takes care of you too. so if your husband is living in the barracks, they give you bah based on where you are living. when my sister got married, her husband went onto his duty station and lived in the barracks so she can finish school and then he went on deployment. they gave her almost 1,600 for chicago. then 9 months later when he got back from iraq, they bought a house by his base in north carolina. the bah got transfered to north carolina, but now they are getting a little under 1,000. so no worries, you will get bah if you don't live with him at first. but, the bah paperwork takes FOREVER to go through. it took our bah atleast 3 months to go through and i know other people that it took longer, almost 6 months. it depends on the base and how busy they are. but that's how everything in the navy is. lol

you can get it in another state as long as you guys are married. all he would have to do is change his page 2 form and give the address that you are living at. that's all we did. and they will give you bah based on where you live. here is the website that will tell you how much bah you will be getting: http://militarytimes.com/projects/money/pay_charts/2009/bah_with/
hope this helps!

hey! i seen your post about getting married at a city hall. i got married at a court house and it was extremely easy. all we did was go to the court house and fill out the paperwork to get our license. the next day we went back and got married! so easy. but you have to make sure that you do a lot of research before hand to make sure you guys can do it. my husband and i were both married before so we had to bring our divorce papers to the court house to show them that we were not still married. and if the paperwork isn't filled out, they will tell you to leave. i've seen it happen. and also, the courthouse that we got married at only had certain times to get married and it was first come first serve. so we had to go way early to make sure that we could get married. and i'm super glad we did because there were people after us that were turned down. so make sure you get all your questions answered and do research to make sure you don't forget anything important. good luck and congrats! :)
