From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
not sure if the navy has taught me anything yet, but they sure were able to teach my son some things that i couldnt.

Hi Valerie, I'm glad you got to spend Mother's Day with David. May I ask why he is sad about A school?

Valerie -

Thanks for the comment! I have so many photos - too many to put up. Andrew is home this week and I will get him to go through them and find David. If I have some, I will email them to you okay?

Valerie, Glad to hear you like the photos. You might want to send your thanks to Karen though since she is the one who actually ran around the street taking them. :-). I just put them on the internet.

Hope you can nail down a few of David! The BIG day is almost here!

Talk to you soon - Carole

Hi Valerie,
I just posted a bunch of pictures (taken by Karen W.) in a slide show format to the Ceremonial Guard Families forum. They are of the CG marchers rehearsal for Jan 20th. You should take a look. You might find one or two or more of David. Might be the best pictures you can get of him in the parade.

Hope to hear from you soon. Carole

Hi Valerie!
I'm in Santa Monica so Redondo Beach is practically next door and Palm Springs is just a day-trip away.

I'm so happy for your son and so grateful for his service in the guard. I have a lot of Navy people in my family and my father, when he passed away so many years ago, had the Guard do him honors at his funeral and I have never forgotten it. It means so much to so many people. I know that being a Guardsman is an experience that brings depth to our children's lives forever.

Good luck to your son too! What is he going into? I've been told that Guardsmen go to the front of the line for whatever it is they want to do after their tour. What will your son be doing?

I'm waving to California for ya! Can you see me? Hoo Ya! LOL!
