Hi Vicki-
I am relatively new to this site. My son leaves for boot camp on 10/7. He will be part of the Nuke program. I am interested in joining any NY Navy Mom get togethers. I went on the tour a couple of weeks ago on the USS Carney and was so glad I went. Met some very Navy Moms. Keep in touch.

Vicki! This is Carla from Military Graphics. Thank you for inviting me to be your friend. What a great family you have. I tried to see if I have any submarine graphics and I don't. Maybe you can help me find some, HA!

Hi Vicky ,
Just wondering if everyone on the N.Y. site can post where in N.Y. and how far from the city they are. So we can get an idea where evertbody is located. If that's o.k. with everybody. My son Chad is a depper date is March 2010 but requested earlier mid August maybe. Can we put a little info about our kids? Maybe we all can even meet somewhere ?

Hi Vicki - Thanks for the welcome. Happy to hear your son has completed sub training. Thats what my son, Augie will be doing after boot camp. I'm looking forward to that as Groton is just a Ferry ride away for us. So I'm hoping we'll be able to see him. I must admit I think of him constantly. I know I'll feel better once I've heard from him. I'm told that won't be for another 2 weeks or so. So just holding tight. Thanks again - hope to chat again soon.

Hey, Vicki!
Thanks for the encourgement! It is getting closer, only 23 more days to go! I am so excited about PIR. I just can't wait to see him! He will continue to stay at the Great Lakes for his A school, so I guess we will be making more trips to Chicago! I think he has made a very good career choice. I just hope that he is glad that he did it as well. Take care and thanks again!

Hi Vicki,
I was just reading a comment by you; posted almost a year ago. You're an old hand at this military mom stuff by now, I'm sure. My son just left 3 weeks ago today. We received a phone call from him last week. He commented on not being a part of his graduation. He is very hard to understand on the phone. I thought he said he had to guard someone. I really didn't understand this. Who is there to guard? He said something about being in another room. I sure hope that he writes and explains this more. I was reading that your son did something similar to this. Just wondering if you could shed any light on the subject?
