Had a great time at the "westie" dinner last night. I really enjoyed meeting everyone, and I'm looking forward to the next.

OK my son and dil will be home next week, and I THINK I have him confirmed for the get together Monday night. Put me down for 4 attending, my husband might also come. Can't wait to meet everyone!
Even though my son has been on subs for most of his 13 year career, these were very eye-opening videos. Thank you!
I might finally make it to an event! Also, my sailor is tentatively scheduled to be home that week, so he may also be attending. Will let you know for sure later.
For those who wish to help those sailors in need when having to travel far from home or base!

- Hi, Ms.Vicki! We ARE having a Westies dinner in December, but felt that the 14th would be a better date, since the 21 occurs after school holidays start. Will you still be able to be there? Oh, I really hope so! I'm going to have it at On The Border, for another change of pace. It's right near Olive Garden, so is easy to find.
How is Jason? the shoulder? Allie? See... you need to come because I have so many questions! Hugs, k.

Has he felt he has lost time or not?
I met a former submarier and he said he felt he lost time being on the subs. I am just wondering.
My son is just starting the sub life since July of 09.

- AH - sorry to hear about the shoulder surgery. Zach keeps having tonsil flare ups and I'm afraid they are going to want to take them out. Can your son work office job or is he SIQ? It is nice to have another CS Sub Mom close by. Are you planning to attend the dinner for Indiana Navy Moms?

- Hi, OB (or should I call you RN?!)... my best friend is a CRNA at Presbyterian in Dallas, working in L&D exclusively. I see you're an Indiana-Sub mom; I am too! I'm sorry you can't join us on the 14th, but seeing son is MUCH, MUCH more important. I promise we'll have other gatherings in the future.
There's a little group of us on the eastern side of Indy that get together about once a month for lunch on a Saturday (sometimes Sunday afternoon). We don't have anything scheduled before the 14th, but when we do, I'll be sure to let you know. In the meantime, I hope your son's injury is healing well... is he upset at leaving the boat? Will he have permanent shore duty? Having one's future 'unsettled' is stressful. Hugs, k.

We have meet and greets to events that the moms set up to meet each other and have dinner or an outing. There are groups to help you with each and every step of this wonderful adventure that our children have chosen called the US Navy.
