It's been a while since I have been on NFM. Gotten so busy since Heather has been gone. There is life after bootcamp. Well Heather has been at her ship for about a month now and is loving it. She is on the Mason.

Last order were cancelled. Now Heather has new verbal orders for June 8th. Hopefully they post soon so she can come home before then

- About me:
- My name is Wanda. I am 42, marriedfor 15 years to my soul-mate Roy, and have 3 children. Heather 20, Aarron 19, and Cooper 18 this month. My daughter,Heather, left for Boot Camp in Great Lakes May 19 and Graduated July 11, 2008. She is in phase I of SCC and should be finishing that this week. She will stay in GL for A school where she will be training to be FC. Aarron recently moved out on his own after being medically discharged from Airforce. Cooper will be with us for life due to health problems. Thank goodness I still have one with me. We live in Salado Texas just North of Austin. I'm a stay at home mom. I love to cook, sew, and play with the babies (neices and nephews) when they come over

- Was proud, Encouraged him/her
- From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
- When your child starts a new life so do you. But both can be a good thing. It will definitely make you both stronger. And even though we are miles apart, This will only bring us closer in our hearts.
- Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
- Our relationship has grown stronger, This was a maturing experience, The Navy has a lot to offer, This was the best decision he/she could have made

Last order were cancelled. Now Heather has new verbal orders for June 8th. Hopefully they post soon so she can come home before then

Still waiting for orders to post
Heather has her verbal orders for C-school and follow on, but still waiting for them to post. She is getting really frustrated at this point. Hopefully they will post tomorrow.

- Hi Heather's mom. I just saw your post on the USS Mason page about the ET/FCs. My fiance is an ET on the Mason. He is actually just finishing up his schools now but in Jan he'll be in the ship for a month and then in March for good. He is really excited! How does Heather like it so far?

3SailorFam said… - Thanks Wanda for the encouraging words...yes, I agree that taking it one day at a time at this point, is best! Today is what we have dubbed "mail day!", so we are anxiously awaiting the mailman to see if we have any jewels! Last week we hit the motherload on Wednesday with letters for everyone from both kids :) It was a wonderful day! We all love Wednesday!

I just hate to stay away from Claire for too long....Heather should be getting more privileges now, and more will come later on after she is out of SCC.

- Hi Wanda! I can't wait until Sara is out of BC and can call whenever she wants to (and I can call her)! I finally heard her voice this morning and man, it was the greatest sound I've heard since my kid's first breaths :) It will be so much easier when I know she is having somewhat of a "normal" life with her own "stuff" around her and freedom to be herself. She really loves it and is doing so well. Her joining came out of the blue and now she is thriving!!! Her brother has always wanted to be in the military, but we all figured he would go Air Force (family). I have only received one letter from him, so I am really hoping to hear from him this week! It will be great hearing his voice too :) Yes, it's hard with two in, but probably no harder than any one else in here. One is hard and two is hard...but probably not "harder"...we all are adjusting to a major change in our lives, and that's never easy! This place sure makes it a whole lot easier though...to talk and read everyone else, having the same thoughts and pains and joys. I love technology!! LOL
