Kristy, I think our daughters are there together, I'm hoping they are moving them to another building soon. Ask Morgan if she knows Karah.

Wendy, you can also go to You Tube and experience what they go through in BC. I did it twice, once when my son left and then again this past August when my daughter left. It will show you what the weeks will be like for them. My daughter is in VA go…

Was proud and encouraged it
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
to be patient. Orders change. Even the "coming home" orders. Be supportive of my child who is enlisted. Give them space if they need it and draw close when they need it.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

Life can be richer and lived more abundantly when one knows that there is more to life than what is seen.

I become so burdened at times when I see people worrying and fretting over stuff. Stuff that if they understood and allowed themselves to accept that we have a Creator who loves us and cares for our needs. He may not always calm the storm that sometimes rages around us, but he offers comfort for the one in the midst of the storm.
Take courage and know that He is God.

Hello Wendy,
Good to hear from you!! I talked to Chris this past weekend for just a little bit. He is happy to be settled there with his wife. He did say that they haven't really started doing much work yet because they are still in the process of setting up their "hub". I will have to ask him if he works with Jason or not. I started a part time job - Halloween costume shop!! Dumb move!!! Long hours on my feet!! I'm going to WA to visit my sailor girl next month so at least I'll have some spending money!!! Other than that - everything else is going good!! Will let you know if I hear of anything where Jason is concerned!!!!!

Wendy,
I am doing well - how about you? I had so much fun getting to meet you and your husband and son. How is Jason doing in NV? Chris said he hasn't been doing much yet - some training and such I guess. I didn't talk to him the last time he called - he talked to his Dad and after I asked Steve what he said and Steve said "I don't know" Talk about short term memory!!!!

Wendy,
Congratulations to Jason on such a fine job at school. As he (and mom) move forward to his next phase, I wish you both the best. Once he leaves and the nerves are on edge again, remeber that we are all still here. We have moms with sailors all over the world so where he goes from here, you can be sure that somewhere here, there is another mom whose sailor is in the same general area. I hope you will stay with us for support to you when you can't hear from him and also for info to us when you can hear from him. You never know who you might be helping as well, with your comments. Have fun at graduation next week and I'm envious that you get to meet Anna and Steve, Carl and Irene, and possibly Barbara! Wish I could stowaway in Anna's trunk even just to see her Chris once more! Enjoy your time and I look forward to hearing from you again soon.
Hugs,
Mary

Wendy,
Thanks for refreshing my memory on your son's school!! I feel bad some times that I can't remember who is where doing what!!! If your son has leave on the books he can put in a request to take leave before he goes to his first duty station. Chris is heading out to Fallon the next morning after school is over. He took leave for his wedding ceremony in CO between A and C and then sent his wife to NV to get set up until he gets there. He is really anxious to get reunited with the Mrs!! Where will Jason be going after C school? Has he been home yet since he enlisted? If not, he can also put in to do 5 days with his recruiter's and it gives him 5 more days at home that will not count as his leave time. If you need more info on this let me know and I'll send you a private message.
Looking forward to graduation!!!!!

Wendy, I'm so glad you are getting away for a short break! It's really good to hear from you again. Is Jason in ground or strike? I will find out what I can but yes, you can pretty well plan that if his school is 8 weeks that C school is pretty definite. Sorry if that did not make sense. Classes are driving me crazy! I'm so tired but I really wanted to read your comment. I've not heard from you in so long. Check your PM from me and I will give you just a little more info. Have a great night! I'm glad Jason is doing well.

Hello Wendy,
If your son is in the same strike C school as my son (sorry - I can't always remember who is where!!), their graduation date is August 21st (Friday) at 10:00 in the morning. I will check with my son to confirm the time when we get a little closer to the date. My husband and I are going also - would love to get a chance to meet you there. Let me know if I can help with any other info. Anna

Well, hello my friend! Going to Dam Neck, huh? Woohoo! I believe the motel you are referring to is the Navy Lodge on the base. You can go online to the Navy Lodge main site and access the number for Dam Neck's Lodge. Then you can give them your cc # and info for the reservation. They will ask your sailor's name and rank, I suppose he is E2 or E3? Anyway, then he will have to meet you at the gate ad get you on base, then follow you over (or go with you) to the Lodge to check in. He will have to get you checked in as the sponsoring sailor. It's like $69/night for 2 queen beds and a kitchenette. There is a very small play area out back, grills, a nice deck, and at night you can see the deer out in the grass. It's like 5 or 6 minutes to the barracks.

Once you have the paper stating you are staying at the lodge, you can pretty freely come and go even if Jason is on duty. I thought it was really nice, and this time of year I'm sure a lot of other stuff is booked. I don't think their rates are seasonal but I'd call to find out. If they are booked you can try the Navy Lodge at Norfolk or even better, the one at Oceana. The same process applies, just on one of the other bases. Good luck.

How are you doing lately? Outta school yet? I'm in for another 6 weeks. Two papers due everytime I walk into ENG and another one assigned. I believe 10 hours was a bit much to take for an 8 week summer session. PSY is not much better and sign language class takes a lot of practise time. Have a good day!
hugs,
Mary

Wendy, i read your blog post. What you said is so true. But i think we forget sometimes. i keep reminding myself that it isn't about me, it's all about HIM. If we will always keep our hearts and minds focussed on HIm, all this other stuff doesn't even matter at all.

i have come to realize several things in the last year or so. 1)HE is in control so we don't have to worry about our sailors; they are in HIS loving hands --here or in heaven. 2)The world will be what it is, we just have to keep focussed on "finishing the race!" 3)That i am no longer a citizen of the United States so much as a citizen of Heaven. So i don't have to concern myself with the U.S. keeping the status quo; i just need to love all people in my sphere of influence -- like HE asked me to! It makes life much easier if i will turn my eyes upon Jesus like the song says!! LOL
Blessings!
