Wendy,
He worked his can off and got did all of the training and learning he could while on the ship. I understand about the being apart. Our son is married and he doesn't like it one bit either. He has been thinking about teaching since he deployed last....didn't care to do that again....neither does his wife.

Congratulations to your son Michael. It is sucha an accomplishment when they graduate! Our son has been on the Lincoln for the last 3 years. He seems to think it's a great ship, I hope your son enjoys his time there. We survived one deployment about 2 years ago. He did get to see some neat places. Nice to hear from you!

Thanks for sending me a "hello". Garrett's doing well. He'll be home for Thanksgiving so I am thrilled. God willing, we'll see him again next May for Val's wedding. He hasn't left yet... They just pulled into port from a cruise. I haven't heard from him much. He said his schedule was wild and crazy. He read all my e-mails, but didn't respond much. Too tired. So what's Michael's issue? Being on the ship so soon? Cramped quarters? I hope he sees the light at the end of the tunnel soon. I know it may be hard for you to find the right words. There is no career path that's totally smooth! Rooster is doing well. Slater has a pretty bad cut right where the saddle sits so we haven't been riding. They are both pretty hairy getting ready for FL's "cold" weather! We'll have to get together!!!!

The VFW in Spring Hill is having a Benefit Dinner & Dance on Oct. 17 @5:30..all proceeds will be used to buy supplies for our troops..the cost is $16.50 per person...would you be interested
