Sounds like you had a nice Thanksgiving, Vicki!! Have you met Sarah's husband yet? What does your son do in the Navy?Sounds like you had a houseful. Bryan spent the holiday with his girlfriend & her grandparents in San Diego.
Brian will be home over Christmas holiday also. He is home now over this Thanksgiving 4 day weekend and we hosted 4 of his shipmates for dinner Thursday at my sister's house in Chicago.. And yes, i sure have a hard time believing it has been a YEA...
Sarah spent her Thanksgiving in Lemoore with her hubby and friends. My son is home from Great Lakes for the 4 days and we hosted 4 our his shipmates on Thursday. Hope you are are all having a great holiday weekend!
Hi Ladies, Well, my son made it back to Lemoore today. He had a 2 week leave flew to VA to see his girlfriend first, then to PA to see us!! It was a wonderful visit!!! He lost so much weight, though!! Hopefully, he will be able to gain the weight ...

- About me:
- I am the ex-wife of a career sailor and the Navy holds many fond memories for me. It is weird to experience military life from the other side. My son (17) decided to join the Navy in lieu of going to college to prepare for a career in law enforcement. My daughter (20), looking for direction in her own life took a cue from her brother and signed up herself. She left August 5, 2008 and had her PIR on October 3rd. He left November 25, 2008 and had his PIR January 23, 2009.

Phone calls home...
Sarah called this afternoon! She was on a bus heading for the base, excited to start this new phase of her career. She is SO HAPPY and while i know i will miss her terribly i am thrilled knowing that this will all be such a great experience and opportunity for her. If i could just stop fretting over the thought of her being "gone" I might be able to be happy WITH her instead of just FOR her.

Here we go again.....
I woke up this morning and immidiately recognized that empty feeling that I haven't had to deal with since Sarah left. I tried to be positive all morning as he wrote addresses into his book and took phone calls from family and friends. We dropped him off and I did pretty good not to cry so as not to embarrasss him in front of the recruiter and the other recruit who was also there preparing to leave that day. I/We do have a few questions if you or any of the others could possibly help?....he cant seem to get answers; ie: no-one returns phone calls. he'll be arriving during the wk-end...and I guess everything is shut down then..?.....he's asking about tel #'s in advance that he can call to check in with. and I need to know about the navy lodge..is it ok...stuff like that.

Brett went on a training, he said the ship is huge but still not a fan, lol. Oh well buddy get used to it! Well make sure you at least keep in touch with me. I miss everyone from our PIR, it seems like such a different time. The site is not the same anymore, the chat rooms, well what chat room :( navymombb@yahoo.com is my reg email, as I said stay in touch. I still speak to quite a few of the moms from the meet & greet bt no where as many.

- Hi, Long time no talk. How are the Sailor(s)?? Is Sarah enjoying "married life" they have a little romance novel going...I hope she keeps a journal to show her kids/grandkids one day, lol. Brett is doing well, he was just out on a training mission, where...no clue! I hope to find out when he is scheduled for deployment, his dates have been chg'd 3x now. I would just like enough notice to make hotel and travel arrangements. I want to be their when my son leaves and arrives back home!!! Talk to you soon! What do you think about a 10-3 PIR reunion group??

- Hi, I spoke to Brett this morning, he said of course Mom we still hung out with Sarah until she justy left, He said no worries, she will be safe and if in need they will all be there to go help her. AWWWW is this being a gentlemen or part of the Sailors creed. hmmm I wonder.
SHe will be fine, keep all good thoughts. You have some great Sailors on your hands :)

- Vicki, he is gone now. But he is happy where he is. Plus my daughter is moving out and now is the time to put the house up for sale and go smaller so no one moves home. They just come to visit.
