Hi Linda, Thanks for the friend request. Traverse City is a beautiful part of the state. We vacationed there and Harbor Springs last summer ('07). The picture of the little girl jumping in the pool is that Sailor you see in the other pictures about 18 years ago. That is one of our favorite pictures and we laugh at it every time we look at it. I'll look forward to hearing what you thought about graduation. It will be a day you won't forget!

Dear Linda,
I'll help you out with the graduation.
It is cold and Chicago is windy. You'll need a sweater under your winter coat. Since your from a warm state, wear the heaviest coat you have and a sweater under neath. Along with a hat and gloves. My daughter is on leave now, so I just asked her.

My daughter had a June graduation. But I'm sure the graduation hall should be comfortably heated.

In the Hall, there will be Sailors standing at ease, near posted "Divsions" signs. Just look for your boyfriends Division, and try to get a seat within that area. Get to graduation early.

The security line is long, you said you'll be driving in, the car line is also extremely long. The car will get inspected with the hood and trunk opened. Get there early, around 7 (ish) AM.

Most likely, your boyfriend will pick up his pictures. After that he can leave base. He will tell you want he's allowed to do.

No one really pays attention to that 3 second hug, but you two can not get romantic either while his in uniform. The hug and kiss does have to be brief, in public while he's in uniform.

The parking lot to the graduation hall is about three blocks, Sailors will be there to direct everyone. Wear comfortable shoes, or low heeled.

The TBA, every Sailor has their own orders. So coming back to base, every Sailor has different hours. Some only have an hour or two, after graduation , called "Grad and Go".
When you see your boyfriend, he will tell you what his orders are.

Have a safe trip and enjoy your self. Congratulations on his graduations!!
Take care and God bless.
