From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
Patience, get together with other moms on N4MS, that's the only way I was able to relax a bit during boot camp experience.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

Hi Barbara - thanks for your words. I am taking the day off tomorrow to get some calls made. The first ones will be to our attorney and MD. Marissa was fine before she left home. This happened to her in Boot Camp and was made worse with the poor treatment she was given in A school. I am trying really hard to be objective, but I'm also trying my hardest to cover our bases. From what I've already read on this site, she has no benefits because she's been in for less than 6 months. My husband talked to a teacher he works with who's been through this nightmare. She told him to advise Marissa not to sign anything. We already have medical power of attorney and I will be calling our MEPS to get info about who to call at Great Lakes tomorrow. She's only 18, for God's sake! She can't do this on her own.
