I would like to invite you to join the group of moms from Texas!! We are the largest state group on this site!! (Everything is bigger in Texas - including Navy Moms)!!

Just go to the groups tab and type in Texas in the search box. The icon of the group is the state of Texas, of course!! If you can’t find that, click on my picture to the left and it will take you to my page. You can find the same icon there. Just click on it and you can join us!!

Please leave a short message about where you live and what your sailor is doing. Also, please let us know how you found Navy for Moms.

My sailor son, Derek, is a MA (Master at Arms) - He just returned from three months in Kuwait and on oil platforms in the Persian Gulf. He is now stationed in Virginia.

Of course, life is a little different for a single mom (divorced), with only the one son...I got used to the empty-nest while he was still in H.S. I work full time at a very busy job...and have known since elementary school that he would join the military. So adjusting to him being gone to BC, A school, power school, prototype, and now the fleet...has not been extremely rough on me. You just do it! Best to you and your sailor!

Not really sure, but you should check the boot camp group. You will find a lot of answers on this group. He should be able to start writing letters soon. You will want to check out PIR **/**/09...which represents his graduation date, once the time gets closer. You will find moms, gf, fiances, or wives with sailors graduating on the same day as Gerald.

His sub is in dry dock, for two years...and he has not gotten out to sea yet. His sub will go out for six months at a time I believe. He left for New Hampshire in April...I went to visit in July (three days)...I will see him for two days just b4 Christmas...and will go to see him when he comes back next year (he is supposed to get to go out on another sub next spring). He has been in for almost three years...I have seen him @ PIR (one day), Thanksgiving (one day) and Christmas (two days), and for graduation from A, Power School, and Prototype, up till this year.
