Might attend. Sorry can't give a definitive answer but just not sure how things will shake out (arrival time and meeting with other family members from other states). But will try to attend. If we do, there is a possibility of 7 of us.

Happy Valentine's Day to you too :) Charles made his rounds with phone calls last night (which was such a nice surprise as I was so not expecting a phone call yet) and I have been texting him today. It is sooooo nice to have regular contact with them again. He told my sister Wendy that they are allowed to get care packages while at school. I'm going to send him his journal that my hubby and I bought him for a bootcamp grad gift along with some healthy snacks. That's great that Erin got himself a phone. It makes it so much easier to keep in touch! Charles said the same thing about decision making while we were with him. We were asking what he wanted to see in Chicago and he got a little frustrated saying that he had not had to make a decision for two months so someone else should decide ;) It really must have been a culture shock for the guys to be back with us even for a short while. It sounds like Charles is adjusted ok now though and getting these little freedoms back (cell phone, extra liberty) are helping him a lot. Charles is bunking with a Sailor that is 4 weeks into his schooling so it sounds like the Navy has done a good job of matching people up. (and before we know it, Charles and Erin with be mentoring new bootcamp grads too!) ok...gotta shower and do errands so will talk to you later!

Hey Betty~ Charles does look handsome...as does Erin!! I also noticed Erin in the background of our photos but of course our focus (as yours I'm sure!) was on our Sailor at the moment so we didn't see Erin until later when we looked through the photos taken. We sat about 3-4 rows up in the bleachers on the left side (from our perspective). I did not even think until later that day that I could have watched for you in the stands..haha! again focus was on the moment at hand!! We also did not have an issue with getting into the drill hall, thankfully. I think we were lucky that only 9 divisions were graduating as I believe up to 13 can graduate at once. Ok, off to shower and work. Take care. Oh, I visited your hubbies site to look at a few of his pics and made a comment on one of them.....he probably knows that "Aunt Tracey" is me through the contact you and I have.

Thanks for the notes Betty. I heard from Debbie that Charles called too. She gave me his new address and I heard from his girlfriend that they will be in A school from Feb 18 - May 22. I'm sure we will be going down to see Charles again but I think it would be nice if his mom, dad, brother all went down as a smaller unit first (for some special family time). Also want to give Charles a chance to enjoy some liberty time with his new Navy brothers without a lot of women taking his picture!! Yes, I did get to meet Erin briefly so that was very nice :) I am so glad he and Charles have each other as buds! I posted a lot of photos tonight and I looked through yours (very nice!) I am off to bed now too so you take care and I'll be sure to keep in touch :)

It really is too bad it took us this long. I also work at the VA and have done so for almost 28 years now. We will be at the meet and greet at Flanagins on Thursday night (God willing). I am on pins and needles this morning waiting for the call. After this I only have to worry about my 17 year old who is in his 4th week of Marine Boot Camp at Parris Island.

I can't believe I have just found you guys. My son Paul is also in Div 094, but alas no phone call from him. I also didn't get a letter last week, but I am assuming its because they are on the final countdown and have lots to do, much better than writing to their mothers....lol.... He hasn't really told me anything about what he has been doing except getting his wisdom teeth pulled. Not a great letter writer is this boy. My other son in Marine boot camp on the other hand, is writing about every day and I know everything he is doing..well maybe not all. Looking forward to Friday morning!!!!!!

Hi Betty, Down to single digits! Can't wait:) Less than 7 days and we can hug them all we want..LOL. Charles' letters have been alot more encouraging. He was promoted to Master at Arms of the division so he realizes that all his hard work is paying off. It was a real moral boost for him. He has passed his tests and hopefully..the gas chamber...YIKES! I've been saying my prayers for each and every one of them all week. We are arriving Thursday afternoon so that we can scout around a bit and drive to RTC. This way when we get there Friday morning at 6:15 we'll know where we have to go:) We are bringing games and plan on keeping him all to ourselves for what little time they give him back to us...LOL. We have 7 of us traveling down. Hopefully, my sisters and Charles' girlfriend will be allowed in for Graduation. I hear that it shouldn't be a problem. If they can't make it in they can wait in the meeting hall until it's over. I hope everything is going well with you. When are you getting to Great Lakes?

Hey Betty,
I too am thankful for the information on downloading books. I didn't want to drive with an earpiece, I like the stereo speakers better. Only thing is now I will just have to store this info away. I was just laid off my parttime job that I was working while trying to find a fulltime job, so all the extras will just have to wait.

Hi Betty,
Thanks so much for all the info on downloading. I will be in the swing of it by this weekend! I am so excited to get started. I knew there was more to it than what the kids do for their music. Your directions and experience will help me a bunch. I'll let you know how I make out.
Take care,
Janet

Hi Betty, Glad to hear from you. I'm sorry that you missed Erin's phone call:( I was sooo happy to hear Charles' voice! I even got a little teary eyed when I talked to him. I had just received a letter on Friday that was not very upbeat ( usually they are ). In fact, he sounded very upset. I'm glad the phone call came the next day because I was ready to go get him!! He says that this week is going to be rough with their testing and PT. Let's all just pray to give them all the strength they will need to get throught this...LOL I think I need the prayers:) Charlie says their div has some behavioral issues still that has them losing their phone privleges. Hopefully they get it together soon with PIR just 2 weeks away!! Well I gotta go get ready for work. Take care and I'll talk to you soon.

Hi Betty, My computer has been acting up a bit so I haven't been on for a few days. I did get a letter from Charles today. He tells me that Erin is in the bunk next to him! How funny is that. He said he's a pretty cool guy..LOL Charles also mentioned that they were denied phone calls again due to a few guys with discipline problems. I really wish we could hear from them.
Not much going on here..just snow...cold weather...snow....cold weather..LOL
Hope everything is well with you. I'll talk to you soon.
