Betty,hang in there...know that you and Cody and all the others out there are in our prayers. It is a numbing experience to hear the details of those incidents that could or have harmed our loved ones. Many of us have been there.....it takes time to get over it but you will. I guess my biggest take away was to appreciate things just a bit more, to make sure I end each email or phone call with my son with an "I love you" and to know there are many many times the situation is bigger than me and I have to resign that control over to a higher power. If talking about what your son shared with you helps...because sometimes you just have to get it out there...please feel free to email/message me. I KNOW WHAT YOU ARE GOING THROUGH! Be strong, be safe!!!

Betty, I know first hand myself what you are going through. Yes, my son who is a FMF corpsman and was in Afghanistan. He was in the thick of things over there and he had many close calls, one which was an IED that I know of was quite devastating. I reacted with distraught feelings. We just have to keep the faith and pray. It's all in God's hands. This does make them much stronger. Let this make your stronger too. Take each day as it comes. I will keep checking on you. Consider me your little pest. Remember, I am here for you. Janice
