Hi Brenda, I'm sorry I didn't get to write back to you sooner. Every time I wanted to get on the computer it was one thing or another then I had to get some baking done for Christmas etc. I hope everything went well. I know you were in amazement with the graduation. I told Justin's brother Jason, to join the Navy so I could see this graduation again. HAHA He just rolled his eyes. HAHA Teenagers. LOL My only regret is that our camera had a hard time taking video of the graduation. We have still pictures but I sure would have liked to have video. I found some phone numbers and e-mail addresses that I am going to inquire and see if I can still get video even though he graduated 2 years ago. I hope so.
I hope you had a good trip. What a Christmas present!!
Hope you had a Merry Christmas.
Talk again soon.
Take Care,
JoAn

Hi Brenda, I'm sure you will be able to spend some time with Brandon. Just remember at first when the recruits all come in, they all look the same even when they mention Brandon's division. Then you will see him it will bring a big smile and tears. It did for me.
Brandon will like school. Justin did. They had a short period of time but they accomplished a lot. He has so many stories about school and boot camp and now his adventure in Japan. You will enjoy them all.

Well, have to go for now. Talk to you again soon
Take Care

Hi Brenda, It is nice to meet you. You will be getting a wonderful Christmas present! Graduation was the best thing I ever saw. I told my other son to join the Navy so I could see the graduation again HAHA. Don't worry, Everything will fall into place and you will not be alone. They will guide you for everything. Once it is over, and you get out of the crowds, you will be able to enjoy your son. He too will be able to tell you what he can and cannot do. We were able to visit with Justin for the weekend. We visited downtown Chicago. We had a really good time. I wish we could have invited all of our family to see the graduation. (too many on both sides HAHA) If you visit downtown Chicago, dress warm (I'm sure you know that) Also, if you can afford it when visiting Chicago, take a taxi everywhere. They were about $7.00 a ride when we visited. It is too confusing trying to drive in the city. Especially for me I live in a small town. LOL

It is hard to believe Justin has been in for 2 years already. But he really likes it. He is in Okinawa, Japan right now. He is a hospital corpsman. He was able to do online classes to get his associates degree. He will be coming back to the states in June. He will be going to school for Preventive Medicine in San Diego. I am looking forward to that. He has been there most of his 2 years. He really likes Okinawa. He of course has a girlfriend there now too. He won't be able to come home this Christmas so we will have Christmas in June when he comes home. He will get some leave time before he has to head to San Diego.
What will Brandon be doing when he graduates? It won't be long now you will be at the graduation. Relax and enjoy. You will be in awe, I was.
Well have to go for now. Talk to you again soon. Feel free to write back.
Take Care.

Dear Brenda,
I just read your discusion. Calm down, you'll be fine with graduation!! It's not all that bad.
First off, you need to reserve a room. The list of hotels are in the graduation package.

As for a gift, your best bet is to just buy an everyday watch for Brandon. The Navy supplies him with everything he needs. SO your safe with a watch. There are so many things that are NOT permissable in uniform.

When you enter the graduation hall, there will be Sailors standing at attention, next to signs saying the Divisions. Go to Brandon's Division sign, and find a seat. After graduation, you will find him with his Divison graduate Sailors.

You will need a rented car, everything is far apart.

Get to graduation early, no later than 7:30 AM.

1) The secuirity line is long. If you drive in, the car line is extremly
long and the car will be inspected with the hood and trunk opened.
Don't forget the car pass, that is in the graduation package.

2) Bring photo ID, camera and tissues

3) bring a dark clothe or towel for Brandon to sit on.

4) Bring a blank check. Brandon will be picking up his Navy pictures.
In most cases, our Sailors give us the honors of paying for the
pictures.

5) Bring some of Brandons civilain clothes. If he has the time to spend
in the hotel, he can relax in his old clothes.

Please don't hestitate to write me, if you have any more questions, or just want to chat, I'm always around here.

If I don't hear from you, have a safe trip and enjoy yourself. You'll be fine.

Take care and God bless.
