Thanks, Carrie! We are holding up. I've received a total of 15 letters so far... with the last bunch arriving yesterday -- which caught me off guard since the bunch before that arrived on Saturday. So, not sure how he was able to send letters on a non-Sunday (unless he sent them out on Thanksgiving, since they were following "holiday" routine). But, still no phone call. Have you heard from your son yet? How is he holding up? How are you holding up?

Hi, Carrie! I'm so sorry it took me so long to comment you back. For some reason, I never even realized that I had a comment wall on my page! How are you holding up? Looks like we should see each other at PIR, right? On 1/15/10?

Hey Carrie,

I'm doing much better, got all that crap off my chest yesterday in my post, it was kind of a release. And this morning went to church, My mind and heart went back to last week, when everyone was praying for Roddy. All is good, From what I can see it looks like our boys are pretty close...at least they are the same ship and well only 2 divisions away from each other. God bless you and your family...Tanao

So, how are you doing 4 days later? The waiting is now the hardest part. Thank you for your kind words. I see that you are already involved in a couple of November groups but if you have the time, join NOVEMBER BOOT CAMP FAMILY and/or PIR DATE 1/8/10. (Is that Ricky's PIR date?) Ha Ha Ha, I just realized I said "if you have the time" to a mother of 6.....I must be crazy!!!!!

Carrie, it sounds like you raised a fine young man, who knows he can take care of himself. He just proved it by doing everything himself. You need to concentrate on yourself. If he gets a chance to call you, make sure you are happy and try not to cry. He needs to concentrate on himself, and not worry about how you are doing. He is fine and believe it or not, you will be fine also. The two months will go by really fast. It's hard to imagine right now, but it will. Don't expect any call, so if he does call it's a "bonus". I can't believe my son has been in almost a year already. You have been blessed with N4M's as well, I didn't have it. I sure wish I had, because there is so much support here that your son will be amazed at what you know. Actually, you will probably know more than him as time goes along. So smile, take care of your other children, and talk about your son to them. He is still there with you in his heart and yours. Be proud of yourself...you have done a wonderful job raising him. He knew how hard it would be for you to be there when he was sworn in and when he left for MEPS and he loved you enough to ask you to not come because of it. So as I was told many months ago, welcome to the roller coaster...you will have up times and down times and it's lots of fun...especially with the other moms that are going through the same thing. Any questions, ask...there is no question that can't be asked! Remember we are all here for you. Keep smiling!

Be strong Carrie (I say through my tears). This may be the hardest thing you've ever done in your life (well, maybe not.....you did give birth to twins!!!!!) But remember to be strong for Ricky. I tried so hard not to break down, but couldn't help it as he went into the transportation meeting after the swearing in. Keep in mind the many opportunities our young men will have and how they will be men next time we see them. All of us in the same position are pulling for you, and are here if you need us!
