Hi Linda, I'm a west coast mom too and I can totally relate to the distance. Florida seems like a world away! Doesn't it? My son arrived on 7.24, day of PIR and is at Corry station. His rate is CTT.

- hi girl, my son just left P'cpla this is what I know about the mail..they do not get it delivered to them they have to go to the post office every day or you need to tell him when you have mail something.If you send it UPS there is no one to sign for it. However do insure it . Send those micro meals and things that can be heated up along with plastic forks and spoons and microwaveable bowls ..Galley food has its moments LOL.
If you plan to go down and stay try to get in at the Gateway Inn near the Barracks he will be able to walk over..Navy lodge is a couple of miles away.
If I can help with anything else just ask.

- Oh that is way too funny about the showering and blow drying but VERY smart!!!! Yeah and that is a lot of hair to blow dry :D Oh we are going to be CRAZY women tonight!!! I am going on our PIR page and it is ALL about our guys tonight and tomorrow AM!!!! It is really a lot of pressure but they are Navy Strong!!!! This site has been awesome and we can all relate that is the best!! Talk to you later tonight!! Since we will all be up until the wee hours :)

- Michelle did you get your letter - mine was mixed in I thought it didn't come (my mail lady always puts Josh's letter on top) anyway tonite is the night OMG we will be so nervous! Josh sounded a little nervous his words "this makes or breaks everything!"

Garrett's Mom said… - He also said that he survived the "confidence chamber". They have to stay up all night tonite and through tomorrow even though Battle Stations goes till 8am. So it sounds possible that we'll receive the calls tomorrow morning after 8am...??? I am going to be a nervous wreck tomorrow until get that call.

- Just like Eddie, Ben complains about the same things but only if asked. I'm really not worried about him. I'd just like to know more often about his experiences - but there will be time for that in the future! :) He is 22 and has been out on his own before - actually lived in Chicago for a year before joining the Navy. I know he is very capable and determined. He sees BC as a challenge and chance to prove himself and another step toward reaching his goal. No, never found out his nickname. I'm sure Eddie is fine and doing well too! Hope I get to meet you both!
