Interior Communication Electrician; What is it? Who knows? Want to find out? There are not many IC sailors so this is just the place to share your experiences about what our loved ones have done or what they are currently doing. =)

Hi Cheryl,
I was browsing around and saw your message on the IC group. I am not a member of that particular IC group because I had already started a group for IC's back in Sept. I noticed that your question about A-School hadn't been answered, so I wanted to respond to it.

If your son is in A-School now, I'm assuming he's already completed SCC and ATT. The IC A-School will take about 35 days of classroom instuction. So, including the weekends, the class will take approx. 5-6 weeks. This class consists of more hands-on training where the sailors get to study and work on some of the same equipment they will have on the ships. I posted some information about what IC's do in their jobs on the other IC group page. Stop by the group when you have time and join us as a member if you like. You can find the group by looking on my page or just doing a search for IC groups, it should come up. I would be happy to share information with you if you have any questions. My son, Billy graduated A-School at the end of Feb. and is now in San Diego attending C-School.

Hi Cheryl, welcome to Navy for Mom's:)) You will find a lot of answers, support and encouragement here. My daughter, Ashley, has been in the Navy since July 2007 and is an IT. What is your son doing with the Navy? If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. I'm glad you joined and look forward to hearing more about you & your Sailor. Pat
