Emily my son has only 1 roomate too and he is a FC like AJ. The real funny part is they both live in ohio and live 2 hours away from each other! They are taking the train home together for Christmas.

I am a divorced mom with a only child that has joined the Navy. I am a Medical Assistant in one of the local hospitals. I was also in the Navy as a corpsman.

Was proud and encouraged it
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
You have to be patient. The navy is on their own time table but in the end it is worth it . The navy trained me for what I do for a living, that was over 20 years ago.

My son is an FC and recently joined his first ship...in Hawaii. My hubby was an FC for 10 years as well - it's a great rate but I'm bias!
