If you can't get reservations at the Foster Creek Villas, the Comfort Suites @ 2540 N Forest Dr North Charleston, SC ·have interior corridors, as does the Sleep Inn. They both have a free breakfast and are close to Cracker Barrel.

You sailor should be able to order one when they order pictures. We just received ours from PIR of 7 AUG so it takes a while to get them. Still waiting on The Keel and those MUST be ordered in advance (at order picture time) as they only order what…

My First Call Today --- Ship 9 Div 343
I tripped over my own 2 feet today when running to the phone after the front desk girl said it's Matt on the phone.......i know there are so many people (moms and dads) that have gone through this before........BUT, when it's your child it's different and until we experience it our selves i don't think we can possibly understand......i just want to thank everyone that has posted on the Navy For Moms........it has truly help me get through this experience......my son sounded wonderful and upbeat.… Continue

Ship 9 Div 343 Graduation Date Oct. 2 (Got my first letter:)
Hey everybody, i am so happy i got a letter today from my son, Matt ......he is doing fine.......said the first week they had to do a lot of punishment intensive training that was ridiculously hard but hasn't had to do it in a while.....he sounded really good.....he hasn't gotten any of our mail yet and we have sent mail everyday since he left......he doesn't know when he will be able to call but said he can write us everyweek.....i pray for you all to here from your son or daughter today also..… Continue

Wanda said… - Yes, Jim is in the midst of prototype training. He hopes to be done w/in about 30 days, hear about his first boat assignment, then move on to Groton for the 3rd stage of his training. He's excited, we're proud and miss him tons.

I keep the phone right with me all the time but things like that still happen and we can miss the call so easy. Yes she had a filling and a root canal work but this last letter said the actual root canal is schedualed for Sept 18th. She had had a tempary done by our dentist here in Tahlequah,OK. before she left and thought she was fine.

- Hi Cindy how are you doing? When I got home last night we had 2 letters from Meghan waiting for us. She has that cold that they all get. Also they are doing some dental work on her mouth and she had a very painful night with it on Sept 2. She is a strong determened girl though so I know she will find a way to push through the pain. How is Matt doing? We have only gotten one phone call and my husband got to talk to her. Have you heard from Matt?

- Yes he is. He's at the prototype stage of his training & hope to hear his first boat assignment by the end of the month. He will be headed to Groton for the final stage of the training sometime in November or so.
I'm still confused about all the terminology, etc., just glad he seems to be doing well & happy. He came home for a couple of days weekend before last. It was so nice to actually reach up & give him a hug!

Brenda S., aka, Sailor Moon said… - Thanks for your friendship. You should read "For When You are Struggling" Blog. Threre are lots of things on the main page that will enlighten you. We are all here for the same reason, we all feel the same the same way and are here to support one another. Is you recruit in the DEP Program~join that group. Join Bootcamp Moms--Most of the new moms are feeling and sharing the same as you and will give you some positive insight on the navy and your stuggles. Blog about your feeling, decorate your page, just keep busy. Most important, spend as much time as you can with your recruit. I hope this helps. Look at the Bootcam Rocks videos on the main page so you can get an idea of what your child will be going through. Get stonger in your faith and trust in the Lord to carry your child and you through this journey. If I can be of assistance, feel free to write. I like to pay it forward as the navy moms came and rescued me. Have a blessed evening. I wish your recruit success, happiness and blessings throughout his/her navy journey.
