Almost forgot my baby girl .shes 19 started College today.. yeahhhhhh :D

hello I'm a single parent.. raised 3 children soley on my own.
Im am so very Proud.. my middle son joined the Navy and after his Graduation : he told me.. you know mom you tried to give us what you could - i want to be able to give back to you . .brings tears to my eyes every time i think about it.
Hes an Incrideable Human being and I thank God for him.
as I always say Pray for the fallen the ones that served an the ones that still serve Today.

Was concerned or afraid
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
when my son when to Iraq- I knew that my Faith was the most important thing and to reach out and ask People to pray for all our troops. sometimes you just have to Let Go and Let God !!
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
Our relationship has grown stronger

I am really thankful my Son told me about this site

I have enjoyed chatting with everyone and reading their stories and sharing some of mine.. weird how God can place people and events in your life when you really need it and didnt expect it.

Got your message about it being cold in Texas. I've been helping my sister build her house in Ely, MN for the past few days where we started the day at 38 below zero. My car wouldn't start until early afternoon when it finally got up to 9 below - "heat wave".

my first son was in the Navy when we lived in kerens and was in Japan,,, your middle school prinicpal..??? what was his name.. I know Jimmy Glenn taught there awhile and also a few others. I know what you mean... when we were in kerens I felt like I was the only Navy mom in the world. ha ha.. Truth is... I felt very alone when it came to Navy things as there was no internet and no cells. boy that was a long time ago. Most of the kids I knew then are grown now and have teens of their own.. is that not just too funny. Now I have teens again. they say what goes around comes around but I didn't know that meant families. Have a good day. Good to hear from you

Delores,, Hello from Canyon Lake Tx 78133. We lived in Kerens in the late 80's and early 90's. My children went to school for several years and one son played football for Kerens High School. We attended church at the Kerens Church of Christ and we moved in 1992. Small world and sounds like you did a wonderful job as a single parent. God Bless you
