From PVD you can get a bus to Providence then a train to New London then a taxi to Groton. Unless he has a friend with a car!

the lodge is not on base. its off base and there are a few things on base fun to do and some great shoping a town over. keep in mind you are going to be really close to nyc and a few other places.

Both of our men are on subs, (obviously because theyre at Groton!) and its interesting that he got on the base on Sept. 21st because I was THERE on base just the day before! My man's birthday was Sept 20. And also I realized that you wanted to go visit him for Thanksgiving and you didnt say that in the discussion.. that gives you a lot of time from now for him to get his liberty so I'm sure you guys will be able to see each other if you can get up there! - Hey everyone!I am a 22 year old Navy DEPper (I ship July next year) who is also in love with a sailor. His A school is in, CT as he will be on subs. He just made it there on September 21! I'm so proud of my hunny and want to go and visit him for Thanksgiving but am not sure how to do it! Train, bus, plane?? Best town to go to? I am willing to try it to get to him! If you all have any suggestions, information, or advice about anything it will always be accepted! I love this site and really wanna make friends! ;>

- That it was always a dream of mine to be a part of it. When I met Donny he was about to be shipped to boot camp.He pushed me to pursue my dreams and while he was at bootcamp I finally found the courage to enlist too. ;)
- Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
- It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.
