Christina - I got a text message from Aaron and he said the same thing. He said, "It depends on the recruit". He also said that he believes it is around 20 tries. That would be about 10 weeks...maybe that is what your daughter meant...10 weeks not 1…

Welcome Emily, I will take your questions one at a time; 1. You can stay at the Navy Lodge IF he makes the reservations. You can not since you are not a military dependent. 2. Overnight liberty will depend on what phase he is in and if he has duty…

Pam - The best advice I can give you right now it to just hold tight and see what happens in the next week or so. IF your son continues to not pass his run and he fails his final PFA - usually the week of PIR - then he will be placed in the FIT prog…

Christine - It my understanding, from my son, that it is your daughters responsibility to practice her run. They test either Mon-Wed or Tues-Thurs with the weekends off. When our son was in FIT in September the RDCs worked very closely with them. I…

Our son has been set back and is supposed to re-do his run this coming Tuesday. I know that we are not the first, and unfortunately we won't be the last family to go thru this. My question is; If your child has had this happen and they passed the run were they able to participate in the next scheduled graduation? He has passed all of his other requirements. All he has to do is make the run and complete battle stations. I am heart broken for our son, we were all looking forward to time together t… Continue

Thank you Vickie for inviting me to this group. Last night was very difficult. We were supposed to be on our way to PIR when we got the news.

Just wanted to let you know that my husband and I decided to hire a shuttle van to take the 'kids' back to the airport on Sunday. We got a good deal from a company the motel recommended. I really appreciate your offer of help, I hope you get to have a good visit with your Sailor.

Hi, Vicki. Thank you for the offer of help in getting my 'kids' to the airport (they are 21 and 18 by the way, didn't want to freak you out). My husband and I are in La Crosse, WI tonight, looks like we'll be arriving in GL tomorrow sometime. I've put your number in my phone, here is my number 916-799-1948. Let me know if the car situation works out. BTW, they are both light packers, bringing only carry ons, so trunk space shouldn't be too big a concern. What division is your SR in? We won't make it to the meet and greet, so I'd like be able to find you at PIR.

Any chance you know which "A" school program and what "ship" he is moving to? If we could narrow this down we might be able to get more info.

OMG Vickie, I would be going nuts, too. I have been praying daily for your Aaron as well as mine and of course the military in general.

My Aaron is doing good. He is in A school in Pensacola. He has his own room . He is alone right now, he says it like a college dorm. He is in INDOC learning the rules, money, sex, etc. He is waiting for school to start for him in 1 week. He is CTR something to do with computers. I joined the A school Pensacola, FL group. They are nice, too, like ya'll were in BC 9/11.

When your son passes and graduates where will he go to A school and what is his job going to be?

Aaron called regularly with his calling card. But I had such a hard time hearing him it's the pay phones there because he called me at 4am Wed morning from the Airport at GL and I could hear him well. They can use the computers at the Rec room, they have to pay, thought, he e-mailed me a couple of times. I have his address now and mailed him his phone. They can have phones and computers now. I am going to mail him a laptop or he is going to buy one, don't know yet. They have to phase up after testing. Then they get more privileges. Like wearing civis, boxers, sneakers, going into town, etc.

Thanks again for your friendship. Please keep me informed. Please continue praying for my Aaron as I will for yours.

Have a nice day. Try not to go NUTS!
