I forgot to mention, you will get at least 3 maybe 4 phone calls from Gabe during Boot Camp.
Take care and God bless,
Barbar
How are you doing ? This Navy for moms is such a blessing.
Relax, take a deep breath...your son is fine and in good hands with the Navy.
I know how scary Boot Camp is for us mom, the unknown. I'll let you know what to expect.
You wrote he just left. Sometime next week, you'll recieve a box with his belongings. I'll warn you, that box will leave you with an empty feeling, we all went through this.
The next week you'll recieve the Form letter, Put this in a safe spot. Don't be like me and misplace it!! HAHA! The Form letter is all about your son's Division's graduation. On the back of this, your son will have written a couple of sentences. You'll get some releif seeing his handwritting.
Around the third week, you'll receive your first long letter from him. I warn moms, sometimes that first letter is sad. If it is, don't panic. Your son isn't into the rountine of Boot Camp yet and not over being homesick. His letters will get more uplifting.
Once he gets into the rountine of it, he will like Boot Camp. They all do beleive it or not.
It's the moms having the nervous breakdowns! HAHA!
Boot Camp isn't has horrible as us moms picture it.
Please stay in contact with other Navy moms. I'm always around. Together, we'll help you through Boot Camp...we haven't lost a mom yet! HAHA!
Please don't hestitate to write.
Take care and God bless,
Barbara
