- About me:
- I am a single mom living in Palm Beach Gardens, Fl. My only child is Ricardo (aka Ricky) who finished basic training on October 3rd, 2008. He is now in training in Texas to become a MN.
I am a civil servant with the Department of Veterans Affairs and am proud to be the facility designer and planner at the West Palm Beach VA Medical Center. It is especially touching for me now, more than ever since Ricky has made the decision to serve our nation by joining the Navy.
I am very proud of my son's decision to join the Navy and of all he has accomplished so far. He is an inspiration and a great artist.

- It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

Kathy C., Danielle's Mom said… - I did see some of RIcky's pics recently -that is pretty cool! We checked into prices for Japan, plus passports, etc and then checked into prices of meeting Danielle in Hawaii instead. While she is enjoying Japan, I think if we meet her in Hawaii it will seem like a vacation for her as well. Usually if she has leave from the band, the whole band is on leave so we wouldn't be able to see her perform. I told her maybe she needs to request the Great Lakes band next so we are only 3 1/2 hours away to see her ! She's not sure, she doesn't miss the cold winters. She spent last winter in Virginia. Can you believe they have been in over a year now!

- Hello - I have been watching for Ricky's name on the photos - I am always checking when I see the photos from Japan :) Thanks for the head's up on the photo of Danielle - I had been watching and missed that one!!! Danielle's a bit homesick - been out for about 6 weeks and we are looking forward to having her home for Christmas - the countdown begins! I can hardly wait to see her! Danielle's last few weeks have taken her to New Caledonia, Australia, Malaysia, Singapore and Vietnam - I think she has enjoyed it -except for a few days of sea sickness when the water has been extremely rough. We'll be down in FL (Orlando area) the week of Thanksgiving -going with the band - I can hardly wait - we were there 4 years ago when Danielle was in the school band.

Ricky told you teh actually truth. Alex is on the phone now! The USS Patriot did pass that inspection with flying colors and recorded best ever on that base!!! Out sailors did real good! Alex recieved an acconnendation ribbon and medal. Get Ricky to share more with you. Alex said he ( Ricky ) worked very hard on his job too. But Alex is not sure if Ricky was able to get in photos during this inpsection. Now that will be a shame. Here things are some better. My mother will not have her out patient surgery tomorrow. Her blood leve was not right - but that is ok because now she will see a cardiologist. And I thing now - she will get better - she will see the right doctor. Take care Freind talk soon TLynn

Well, that inspection should be over now. And it should be Thursday evening there for our sailors. Keeping fingers crossed that the ship passed and now was given a 3 day liberty. My Alex will take a nap and do all his laundry and then I hope go sight seeing. Just wanted to touch base with you - hope all is well. As soon as i hear from my son - I'll get on a message off to you. I was enjoying the slide show and was wondering - do you think Ricy was ab;e to take pcitures during that BIG inspection? talk soon TLynn

This is what she wants, so obviously I will support her!!She will be allowed liberty after 1 yr service in J apan.She is home for 2 1/2 weeks and I am savouring every minute!! Even if she gets pissed at me by being "to close"!!

I still go back to my page to see that photo of Alex. ANd you are so true - Ricky captured a moment, that is so real. When I shared it with my mother - she too teard up and then my husband had not words - but his eyes siad it all. Now his brother - " hey , look at dork". I can only image some future pictures Ricky will capture. ANd I have a gut feeling Ricky is going to capture a moment that will last through the ages. Glida. I know you must be tired. Physically and heart heavy emotionally. My mother is still active and does things for herself. But there are those bad days. And someone has to be with her 24/7. I cannot image your feelings and all you have to do. But please share whenever you need someone to just listen to you. I have great ears :). Get some rest. ANd thank you again for asking Ricky for taking pictures. I did email ALex and asked him if Ricky would like someting speical - but no response. So does Ricky have any speical candy - cookie- movie - something I could send him to thank him? Have to go - talk with you soon TLynn

When I opened my page - there was my son! I am still crying. I have been down these pass days and to see that picture. i can't describe. You made my day. Please tell Ricky thankyou. I know he will just say I'm having fun taking pictures. But it means so much to me. The last picture I saw of my son was in March.. Yes, I will visit your page and see those pictures :). But please share - how are things for you? You doing ok? Your mom? Things here have been a little difficult. My mom has been having some more health issues. ANd I feel like my hands get tied and can't do anything to help her. I know that I am - it's just that frustrating feeling. Sorry didn't mean to complain. Again thank you . TLynn
