- Hello, I have a daughter in Japan but she is on the USS Blue Ridge. Also, I use Skype and talk with her almost daily when she is not on the ship. You can go to www.Skype.com and download the program. You both download Skype on your computers - if you have a webcam you can see each other while you talk. If no webcam, you can still use a microphone and talk to him - for free - you both just have to be online and have Skype open at the same time. I just have it on when I'm at my computer and you can either talk or instant message with each other. My daughter also purchased a local number - so it is our home town number. Your son can do this through Skype - for about $100/year it allows you to call from your computer (using Skype) to any number in the United States for Free - so bascially she can call anywhere and talk to whoever she wants and it's less than $10/month. It's great for my folks who don't have a computer so she calls their house phone from her computer -using the Skype program. Hope this helps. Kathy

- I can tell you the ship is in port right now, but this week is very busy for them. I'm not too sure about the Shiloh. The ships are very high tempo over here meaning they are in and out a lot.
