Profile Information

About me:
Our son left on the 17th of March for training. I'm a very worried mom like any other mom would be. I know he will be ok. I was born and raised in Sicily/ Italy. I have 4 children and 4 small grandchildren whom I baby sit almost everyday. I pray that God will give him the Strenght through Faith to complete this first step of his carrier in the Navy.

Needed to learn more about it
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
I don't have experience in the Navy but I have worked and lived near military family and dependents. I have friends whos husbands are in the Navy and My husband was a petty officer second class when we met in Sicily. He was out of the military before we got married. Now my son is going in the Navy and I will support him alway if that's what he wants.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

Grazi- We are looking for moms to help with filling stocking for the holiday project for the Nimitz. I am doing about half of the Wallbangers, but my son is in another squadron, and I am also helping with it. Would you be able to help with doing some stockings or goodie bags for the guys? We are trying to make sure that everyone receives one. They need to be mailed by Nov. 14th. Please contact me if you can help! Thanks

Jane this is abosutely crazy lol......okay, in order to get to my old page I have to go to the group USS Nimitz and click on my pitcture to get in. When I reregistered they gave me a brand new page, and when friends send me comments they go to my new page, to answer I have to go to my old page lol..............hugh

Hey graz, I'm sorry that it has taken me 2 days to respond but I just saw your comment. This site is new to me. My daughter has been in the Navy for 3 years already but I just learned of this site. I sure wish I would have known about it before she went to bootcamp. Yes, my Sarah is married. She is actually a newlywed. Her husband was a Marine. His enlistment ended in August '08. There were just married this past New Year's Eve. This is her first deployment. And "no" you were not asking too many questions. How long has you son been in the Navy? Is this his first deployment? Is he ships company? Sarah is not ships company. I hope that you got to hear from your Son again before they left? Sarah called me last night while she was waiting in line for a washer to open up at the base laundry. And she called me twice this morning, once after they had mustered and then one more time before she had to turn her phone off. That last call was a hard one. I thought I was doing okay but then it hit me like a ton of bricks. I too hope we can share good news about our children. What does your Son do on the mess deck TAD? Now look who's asking a lot of questions, ME!!!!
