Finally classed up last week, and aced his first test. He's on his way!
My son's PIR was 7/17/09 and he STILL hasn't started A school! Thinks it will be sometime after Christmas break before he gets word on when he starts. Has finished class and is on hold for now:(
Janeen, they really can and do take care of the travel arrangements very quickly and efficiently on base there. They made all of Colin's arrangements, including re-routing him through home for 2 weeks before heading to Japan. No worries! At least ...
Tim said they had not got their dates for sure yet, but he knows where to go to get his tickets, he keeps telling me, " I have it under control mom."
If I understand it right. Some of the kids had to do some online reading classes before starting school. Not everyone had to do that. The ones who did not went on with their Corpsmen training. Tim will finally class up Tuesday.
Tim is a HM and is excited to start school soon.
Well, Tim said he should class up Tuesday. He and some others were having to take a reading course and pass before they could go on. he is so glad he passed it.

Corey has one more week to go to complete his "A" school training at GL for Gunners Mate. His PIR was 03-27-09 so he has been there awhile. - Yes, Steven is also in A school in GL, he is a HM (hospital corpsman). Just got a call from him tonight. He's ready for bed at 8pm, very strange for my boy that used to stay up all night and sleep all day. Navy has really changed him.

- Hi Janeen, I'm so glad to hear your good news! I found out that my son's job was to assist recruits ASMO'd in or out of the division, so I'm hoping he was able to help your son Tim when he joined the guys...the Knuckleheads (so I learned today). Good luck to you and your son with your journeys!
