becky my son also went to kuwait this wek and will join NMCB 74. we recieved an email that he arrived , he sounded really good. i also hope to get an address soon so we can get some pkgs out for the holidays.

my husband and i drove down to gulfport for our sons "A" school graduation on friday 9/11. it was a 16 hr drive and well worth it, esp since we got to bring our seabee home with us! we stayed at the gulport inn on base only $31 a night no tax. simil…
hi all, im still kinda new to this. my son grads "A" school in gulfport next mo. we plan to go down for it and bring him back then he goes back for combat training and deploys from there for AFG. i wish i could stop crying . I want to be supportive…

- Hi Janie, I have not been on in awhile. I heard you were at graduation today, we were unable to make it. Drew is on a plane as I write. We pick him up tonight. I do not know where Drew is going after combat training. He said the battalion he is assigned to just got back so he my not be deployed for a year. He did get the west coast so he will only be an 1and 1/2 hrs. away. Where is Arthur going to be? I told Drew our home is open to all. So perhaps I will get to meet Arthur. Blessing and congratulations to Arthur!

- Janie~ Thanks I think between the both of us we can keep eachother informed as to dates, schedules etc... It would be great to live close and travel together. I would like that! Our other son leaves for MS. on the 15 of Aug. for college. He is attending Ole Miss. It would be great to have all of us together for A school graduation. I'll keep you posted on any new news. I am not certain how long combat training is but I beleive if I read his orders correctly that it is about 8 weeks. Jim's battatlion is being deployed after the first of the year.
We have a local Lorain County moms group formed and we are meeting this evening for the first time..we would love to have you join us if you would be free. We are meeting at John Christ Winery in Avon Lake at 7:30 pm. There are about 11 of us moms here locally that we have communicated with.

- Hi Janie...Jim graduated in November; he was on medical hold for a bit and then came to MS. He is a builder and gradauted A school with Honors and was the squad leader. He graduated A school in June and got to come home for 2 weeks. He starts combat training in August.

- Hi, Drew called tonight our boys are together. They will be graduating in Sept. not sure of the date. Drew will also be returning for combat training to gulfport after he comes home for a visit. I work with children and one of the fathers saw Drews Pic in my office of him in his dress whites and asked who the sailor belonged too? To make a long story short this dad is career military and said that Drew is going to love being a Seabee and proceeded to tell me all the things our sons will be learning in combat traing. He said if I have any questions just ask. So if you have any let me know. I'll ask! I will keep in touch that way we can both keep informed.

- Hi janie, I hope Arthur is well and you are getting alot of phone calls! Do you know has Arthur started classes yet? Drew said they were still waiting. Are you planning on going to graduation? Brenda said… - We did go to our son's A school graduation in Gulfport. We were the only family there but were glad to go. our son then came home with us for the week. We are from Ohio but wanted to see where he would be, etc. We're kind of like that. Anyway, the commanding officers seemed to like that we were there. The only problem we had was at the gate, they didn't seem to know that we were coming or know anything about a graduation. Hope this helps.
