Hi I'm new to the group my daughter PIR 7-17-09 I think she said the class she is in now will be her last at GL.She said this class last about 2month & 10days. She thinks she will be deployed the first of the year. What is this riverine I'm reading…

- I have been married for 31yrs. I have two beautiful daughters. I have two grandchildren Hannah 3 and Tyler 8mo. They are the love of my life other than my two daughters. My youngest Laura is the one that joined the navy.

- From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
- I really do not know much about the navy. I think that out of all the branches I feel this was a good choice.
- Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
- It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

How was your trip? How is Laura? Hope all went well and Im sure you all had a great visit.
What will happen when Laura get out of A-School? she must be able to come home for a WELL diserved visit.

Just heard from tiffany and I guess she has gone to the Master Cheif, to share with him how unhappy she is with the Navy, and I guess he will be getting back to her on what they diside to do with that info.
It breaks my heart to think she is so unhappy but I think she really needs to follow through with her decision,
What would you do if it was Laura. Love to have a different input if you have any to share.

So glad to hear from you and so glad to hear you are finally going to see Laura. You all must be so ready. I am sure you all will enjoy one another so much.
Tiffany is out in the Arabian sea we think she cant say were she is so that is guessing as she left Dubia 2 weeks ago, and hating the Navy. She called before boarding the ship and said why did you let me join? I and her dad advised her to join.
It is just so hard to know she is so unhappy. and I pray she doesnt do anything foolish to get out. Just like college she hasnt given it enough time. All I can say is take one day at a time. Try to say positve and find the good in every day.
I am so glad to hear Laura is liking it for the most part. I think of her often just wondering how things are going for her.
Well enjoy your visit, will be thinking of you all.

How are you? How is Laura? Would love to hear from you to see how things are going. I wonder if Laura is liking the Navy as Tiff is hating the Navy. :( . she has been on base in bahrain for a week and they charge her for her stay and finally she is in dubia, aboard the ship. she is on the top bunk 3" head room, so they wont help things. The sad part is we told her not to join and now she wishes she had listened! So as parents what are we to do?.
I just wish raising kids were eaiser. lol

Tiffany is home and gone again with friends. Its really nice having her kicking around.
I am very disapointed with her job as sk (Store keeper). She has so much more protential. when she first signed on she had 6 choices or what ever and she changed the order before swearing in any how it seemed not to get in her file and when they signed her a job as sk, she didnt make time to sit down with them as she was really busy doing her Yoemen job :( . The other sailors I think got to sit down and really decide what they wanted to do, so I am alot upset but I guess Its not my problem and Tiffany so far seems to be o.k. with it. She should have made the time. I dont know if it is really true but I guess after so many YEARS they can change. I dont know what to believe anymore! Oh well.
I hope all is well with you all. Do you know if Laura will make it home over Labor day? I really hope she does. I"ll keep my fingers crossed.
Looks like we will be going on our fall Hike and Tiff will be joining us will return a day early, it will be fun.
Any how just thinking of you all.

Good to hear from you, and sounds like Laura and you all are hanging in their.
Isn't it so nice to chat with them every day or so ? It was just so hard not seeing them or getting to talk with them that I found to be so hard. Anyhow I am so grateful for phones. lol
Well Tiffany is to be home for 2 weeks Aug. 26 and we cant wait!!! yeah! I am afraid it will go by much too fast, as she has tons of plans. Scott and I usually go for a 8 mile fall hike in the middle of no were with 50lb packs and Tiffany thinks she wants to go. How crazy is that? I think roughing it for 3 months would be enough, lol all though I think she would really enjoy it if she was to have more time off but she doesn't, I don't think I will be going this yr. as our new dog bambi is re cooperating from being spayed :( and I haven't been walking, and preparing my self for it, so we will see, I really hope she doesn't go and I wish Scott would cancel it and camp locally, and with all of us, as her sister really would like to spend some time with her as well.
Anyhow the wedding was beautiful even though it rained all day and night, it would have been better if Tiffany was present but she wasn't and we made the best of it. Tiffany did call and spoke with the Bride and Groom during the reception, Thank havens for cell phones :) . I think Tiffany was really sorry for not being their, but we have tons of photos to share, in which I am in hopes of getting new photos to share on this site soon.
Tiffany will be stationed in Norfolk VA. Which is 12 to 14 hrs. away from home, so that wont be so bad, and her ship is the Donald Cook destroyer. (which has a photos on the Donald Cook web site) She will be flown to the ship in the mediterranean sea the end of Sept. not sure of the date yet but how cool is that? Tiffany is really excited but really nervous. The Commanding officer has called her at A-School to welcome her aboard, I thought that was nice. She was impressed with that. She had to get a sponsor which is someone an sk as she is an sk to confide in and ask questions if need be and any thing else Tiffany may need and she has spoken with her, which Tiffany was pleased with so things are going along accordingly I guess.
The ship is out to sea for 6 months it left VA July 30 I think so Tiffany wont be home for Thanksgiving or xmas we will have to wait and see, so we will plan a thanksgiving dinner before she leaves and well as many other meals she has a list of. lol
Any how I guess that is enough for now. I am glad to hear Laura has adjusted to things, and I will be anxious to hear how she is doing and I hope she does make it home for Labor day weekend and we know she DESERVES it.
Does she have PT most days? Does she have some down time, for herself? I wonder if it is much different then other A schools.

sent a message to you dont know if you got it sent it personally.
Anyhow Have you heard from Laura? I heard from Tiffany last night and she was in tears :( just like the night she arrived at boot camp. I think really overwelmed, and tired as she had to get up at 1am, for her flight she says she feels like fresh meat again and some male said a comment to her as she got out of the van, but I hope they did some training with sexual arrasment, its so upsetting to hear from her when she is upset. Thank god every day is a new day!!!
I hope Laura is adjusting well, and you hear more from her.
