About me:
I have 3 daughters, 1 son and 4 beautiful granddaughters. I worked for 6 yrs. at a dental office as accounts receivables. Right now I am starting my own jewelery business and things are really taking off. I hope to go back to work soon but for now this gives me time to work on my jewelery.
I am here to support or represent my:
Son/Daughter
Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy Career?
Waiting to leave for Boot Camp
When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was proud and encouraged it
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
that my daughter will have an awesome career from it. Thats how my father and uncle got their careers.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

Hi, how are you doing? Have you heard from your daughter? This past month seems to have gone so slow, but Oct 16 seems to be flying up on us. Travel plans are made, sounds like my son is doing good now and has adjusted well. Said the division is doing great together.
Hope all is well with you and your daughter!

So happy you heard from her!
My tooth is better, infection gone but still need to go to dentist again, BP meds are working.
I have not heard from my son yet, hoping today is the day so watching the mailbox.
I understand being tired, I get carried away on the pc alot too, movies and games seem to take my mind off of things.
Time just seems to be flying by when I think of how long he has been gone, then it seems to crawl when I think about it the next time, really hit me when I realized school had started and I have no kids in school now. haha.
Hugs! Enjoy those letters and the Call when it comes

Hi, I am happy for you that you heard from her, she seems like such a nice daughter -cares alot about you! I think its normal to be down or homesick at this point, still hope she starts to enjoy it more soon. I am doing ok, been sick with BP problems and a broken infected tooth, which is no fun.
I have not heard from Jacob yet so I only know he is doing good because I would have heard if he was sick or hurt. I did however hear from Your daughters friend which helped me out alot! She said your daughter said my son was a "nice guy" which really felt good to hear but was something I already knew, he is strong in faith and a very caring person. I am glad your daughter and my son ended up in the same Division after meeting on Navy for moms! It must have been nice to see a familiar face there.
I tend to write novels...LOL. I am also writing him as often as I can, I will let you know when I hear anything from him.
Hugs to you, stay strong!

I alwasy get confused with the time zone difference, I think they get up around 4 am but maybe it was 6 am there and 4 am here. I will ask my older son when he calls.

Ah I do understand, I heard from my first son sooner and more often, but that was because it was bad news. He broke his foot so had to check in to give me updates, once his foot healed it was back to no news. Thus why I believe no news is still good news! If anything goes wrong they let us know right away. The RDC's are good people doing a job, and part of that job is making sure our sons and daughters become the best sailors they can, healthy and strong. They take very good care of them. Still us moms will worry non stop, it is our job!

I can not watch any military movies now, I used to love to watch them. Saving Private Ryan is one of my favorites. Now all I can think is I can't stand the thought of that happening to any family, I felt that way before but I guess its just too close to home now. The movie I watched this time was "Taking Chance", a true story about a Marine Officer that volunteers for escort duty to take Chance's Body home to his family, It was a very moving story, but all I could do is think of the family of that Marine and all the others that we have lost, Not a good subject for a boot camp mom. Sorry I brought it up, I just need to learn not to watch some movies.

i know it does not help much now, but it will get easier. Plus the bonus of a spotlessly clean house! I personaly made the mistake today of watching a dvd one of my family added to netflix, It was a true sad story and I cried like a baby. Life sure changes when you have a son/daughter in the military, I never used to cry at movies.

LOL, everyone here understands. I used to have my ID picture on the left say something like, "beware boot camp mom, will kick scratch, scream to get to a ringing phone or the mailbox!"
Was so tiny nobody could read it..lol but that is what it said and it is true of most of us I think.
